i know it's sci-fi, but i'd thought i should still post it here.

im a big fan of the old King Kong and Godzilla flicks, but this movie looks stupid. the monster looks interesting, but i'm not planning on watching this.

not sure if this is official, or just fan art, but does anyone know what the monster looks like?

i've checked numerous other sites, and sopme say this is just the continuation of the horrible American version of the Godzilla movie.

Although director Matt Reeves and producer J.J. Abrams have not specified and declared what the monster will be, Abrams stated that he created a new monster after him and his son visited a toy store in Japan. "We saw all these Godzilla toys, and I thought, we need our own monster, and not King Kong, King Kong's adorable. I wanted something that was just insane and intense."

A list of what the monster will not be has also been confirmed. The monster is not: Godzilla, King Kong, a giant Crab, a Lion, a live action version of Voltron, or an alien known as the Parasite.

Its probably the beast from 50 000 something. Or its Zillah.

actually i have read that the monster is a deformed whale thing

so that is a possibility

My only issue with the whale looking fan art work is this...

It's too fat and seems pretty wide.

Looking at the buldings destroyed in the posters...they don't match the width and size of the monster in the fan art.

Those posters are probably just art too; not taken directly from the film.

Isnt it filmed on a handheld for the effect, like the blair witch....Make it look real?

I think the artwork in the posters should have legid validity to the size of the monster. I'm sure the artist along with the makers of the film worked together. Otherwise...this would really be a disorganized project.

I believe that to be reasonable. But I'm not sure on the tail. I watched the trailer and the monster didn't seem to have one.

I still have my doubts about this movie but Im hoping its at least decent. Given how awesome the first trailer was, Id hate for the movie to suck.
