The director decided to keep it since the title had gained such steam on the interwebz.

The maker of that video is going to feel and look stupid when everything he claims is totally sunk as bullcrap in six days when Cloverfield finally comes out and we all get to see for ourselves it aint Zilla.

Toho never signed up to any new distrubiter in the states lol they have been making and focusing on anime films since they put the Godzilla franchise to sleep after final wars in 2004.

They killed of the rubbish that was known as zilla from the hollywood version in Final Wars to show their disgust at how hollywood managed to mess up. So canonically it's dead and doesn't exist anymore hence it can never be used again.

Toho aint going to trust hollywood with making another film with their character after how bad they messed up last time and how they have to stop making Godzilla movies for awhile so people will forget about the bad taste of the hollywood version.

They're just bidding time till the anniversary of the character before the make a new full length movie so i doubt they'd bankrupt themselves or make the same mistake twice.

im not 100% sure that the monster is Zilla, but TOHO gave him his own stamp and rights so when they retired godzilla, zilla wasnt retired. zilla is still available to anybody who claims his rights, except for sony, and TOHO said that they actually wanted a sequel, as long as they made him bulkier, because he was too skinny and too concerned with laying eggs than destroying New York. and as long as Sony didnt make it. They said Zilla had the potential of a good monster. They said Zilla wasnt a complete failure and that he just needed a better movie to be a success.

My friend Zilla is offically in the ranks of Godzillas villains now for Toho to do with what they want to him and very few villains that are killed in one movie make returns in the franchise. They gave the character the shortest fight and death in Godzillas history as a statement.

I mean yes techincally a sequel can be made but the whole problem is why waste the money on giving a now minor character a second movie and trying to fool people into totally forgetting about the first movie it doesn't really make sense it's like taking Robocop and putting him in a western and trying to make it believable.

Plus all the merchandise revenue would be non existant as who wants more stuff with Zilla on it or another Zilla figure especially when everyone is dying to see what this thing actually is it'd be the biggest anti-climax of the decade lol. It would make more business sense to just make an outright sequel called Godzilla 2 instead of trying to scam everyone.

JJ Abrahms would never be respected or work again if he's on the record saying it's not zilla or godzilla it's original and then everyone goes see the movie and surprise it's zilla lol and JJ is like well i sure fooled you all public lol.

Here's some new pics floating about on what it may be i dunno man we'll all see for ourselves in 5 days though:

that looks nice

I think "Cloverfield" stands for the codename that the Govt gave the incident, since they find Hud's camera.

i think i know who it's going to be

King Caesar

After reading this in the description it has to be him "King Caesar possesses remarkable speed, athleticism, durability and martial arts prowess". He's the Chuck Norris of monsters!

hopefully that doesnt mean the monster will be a pussy like chuck norris

I think that's it but a more revamped 2008 version. This monster looks just like the Cloverfield monster i saw. Bat-like looking. (At least facially)

I saw a new tv trailer last night that showed more of the monsters body while the military was bombing it. (while watching the Terminator tv show, which kicked ass, by the way.)

4 more days.

Well this is my last post for this thread till I see the movie.

There is going to be some spoilers coming this week. And I really don't want to be spoil with any pics of the monster till I see the movie.

Be back with a review...

I heard you can totally tell there is a person inside the monster costume.

Thats completely accurate. They say that before the trailer begins lol

WOW GGS! You actually found REAL concept art for the movie. Yes, that is the creature, more or less (with a few alterations). Another piece of conept art attached below.

A description of the monster by someone who saw the movie is:

Spoiler:
"The monster isn't green, it's grey.
-It has 4 legs and 2 really small, crab-like legs on it's torso (the crab legs might've been vestigial).
-It's approx. 30-40 stories tall (Rob/Lil/Hud climb up Beth's building (59th floor) where she is impaled on some metal thing, after saving her, they see the monster walking down the street, monster is significantly shorter than 50 stories).
-It's front "arms" are "backwards" (as if you're elbows protruded in front of you) The arms are pretty long.
-It has 3 LONG fingers on each hand (like, index finger middle finger and thumb.
-Has 2 back legs, walks upright, but it appears that the front "arms" are significantly longer than the back legs.
-Has a long tail.
-Human-like head.
-Has these 2 red, puffing (possibly lungs) lobes on it's head. It's jaw looks like a bulldog (where it's "fangs" are over it's lips)
Actually, it's torso is kinda short and thin, but it's front arms are pretty thick. It's back feet are thick as well. Kinda like a gorilla (?) I can't think of an appropriate animal.
It's face is human/snake-like.
Slit nose, 2 slit-ish black eyes, 2 upper and 2 lower "fangs" protrude over it's "lips" like a bulldog (haha).
Round, bald head. It actually looks like a combo of Voldemort and a Bulldog haha.
It's got a somewhat short-looking torso, the tail makes it look way longer. The tail is definitely longer than the length of the torso, neck, and head.
At one point, it appears to walk like a gorilla using it's front arms to propel itself, but it mostly appears to walk on it's back legs (mostly when it's being shot). It moves kinda fast, but not overly fast.
It's surprisingly short (on it's back legs, but with it's arms outstretched it has the capability to be really, really tall) and not as wide as you might think. I think it's no more than 35 stories tall (because Beth is trapped in her apartment impaled on a piece of metal, and the monster walks by/beside/underneath the building after Hud, Lil, and Rob get her out. Beth's apartment is on like the 59th floor (?) The last numbered floor I remember seeing is 57 and they were still going up).

In the scene where it kills Hud, it appears to have red "lungs" on it's head that puff in and out as if it's breathing, creepy.

The legs are slender too, but the feet are THICK and stump like, bigger than one of the tanks it steps on.
Definitely no evident dominant sea-creature gene or trait is visible. It didn't have any gils or fins that I could see.
Overall, the monster is a dark grey.
and it's tail never appeared to drag."

I would put a spoiler tag and just link the image, but since you've already opened the door...

The description above fits rather well with the images, don't you think?

As for the parasites...
(I really wish I knew how to do spoiler tags for pics)

It has a somewhat resemblemce to the Tarrasque, if my D&D memory serves me well (close to 20 years now), so not that original, imo.

Edit: I added link to varies pics.

i dunno if i like that look. His legs are mad skinny. This monster looks like it would get fcuked up by King Kong and/or Godzilla.

What are it's power if it has any. (beside strength)
