From what I've read on other message boards, the monster is huge despite how the concept art looks. A guy who "claims" to have seen a pre-screening said the monster

I just got back from a midnight screening and I think this film lived up to the hype. For a midnight screening it was pretty packed, I was surprised at that.
I'm not going to type spoilers or describe the creature, so don't worry. I will say though that the monster was pretty cool and they do show enough for the audience to get a good look at it.
The POV camera is what really makes Cloverfield shine. Yes it's a totally unbelievable premise, monster attacks city etc, but the POV really made me feel like I was watching the events happen in real time.
One thing I want to say is that it really bothered me how many people I heard saying it was "awful" and "the worst ****ing movie they've seen." Does anyone at least read up on a movie they are going to see? One guy was mad because there were unanswered questions, well no shit, when the movie starts it clearly explains that the tape from the camera was recovered evidence.
Is that what film has come down to now? Let's just show the audience everything so no one really has to think about what they just saw?
Anyway....
I give it 10/10 because, quite frankly, I thought it kicked ass. Oh and be sure to watch closely in the upper right corner of one of the last scenes, I'm sure it will be talked about heavily as to what the object is.
Movie Topic In The Otf
I seen all the cloverfield previews and deffintly thought that it was going to be godzilla but without ruining anything lets just say it was alot more intresting then what I though it was going to be.
I havent seen a movie at twelve am though on its opening day in a while i feel like a true critic anyone else see it recently?

when they showed them at the end, before the event while they were still at the beach carnival or w/e it was, something FELL into the ocean and made a splash, like the creature was from space, did you not see it? cause i feel like im the only one

But good movies, ill catch at the theatres. Semi ok, at the matinee, and Imax would be reserved for spectacular movies.

I've been put of seeing the film because of the camera work, am I correct in that it's all handheld stuff through the whole film? I'd be feeling sick through the whole thing, need to wait till dvd so I can pause and rest lol.

Yes, the whole film is basically what it would be like if someone was recording it on a handheld camera. I didn't feel sick but it does kind of whack you out until you get used to it.
