If I was more into Star Trek I would have.

It was still a cool, little, teaser trailer though.

Yeah, it was definitely the epitome of a teaser, but for some reason, even though it was just a shot of the Enterprise, I still found it pretty badass.

looked like one building split in half to me 😬
Spoiler:
as far as i can tell, the roof on the collapsed building was intact. so were the stairs and the stairwell. like the monster tipped it over, probably brushed against it while roaming NYC. and the building they walked into had minimal damage, relatively speaking...

True, if that is the case.. which it is.. then it is a poison anyway because the definition of a poison is just some chemical or something that is harmful to take into the body..

SO yeah I guess it is a poison. There saliva maybe?

the saliva or the "venom" the spawns secrete through their bites, much like a snake perhaps, may have an adverse reaction when mixed with the blood stream or the human body entirely... could be the hemoglobin, the oxygen, the carbon, the calcium, the protein, the gastric juices, or whatever we are made off. the reaction is more like a bleach-and-baking soda reaction rather than pepsi and poprocks. whatever it is...

Spoiler:
it blew the sh!t out of people... and then some... literally.

i thought the the move was weak i mean it just another kill-fest movie with great special effects and shallow plot. And i thoght i came too soon after 911 for some people.

over all i didn't really like it bucase its the blair witch project and they thew in 911 so people would go see it. no deeper meaning no exeplaination for anything no charictar devlopement and not even appernt sybolism.
this movie was made for one reason to scare people, and that is what sells, movies like this put good movies down

Did anyone else get extremely excited during the Star Trek teaser?

The general consensus of people who's opinions I trust is that this movie is worth it, more than worth it.

I love the idea of monster movies more than most other kinds of movie, I own too many to count, so this being a fresh, innovative take on it is interesting to me. I hope it's good, but we'll see.

It comes out Feb 1st here, is it a movie I should pre-order my ticket to? I hear it sold out like a bastard over in the States.

I got tickets at the door opening night. But it wouldnt be a bad idea to preorder, the theater was damn crowded

And yeah, its a fantastically fun movie, as long as you're willing to approach it with an open mind.

Those people need to get over it. It's been seven damn years. Almost a decade. People die everyday, across the world, someone is dying every minute. Less, actually.

*shrug* I thought it was awesome, and I loved the characters. They felt very real to me.

I agree.

Spoiler:
I like the 9/11 effect when they have to run inside the shop and you see the smoke and ash rush past the window, and you see the shadows of people walking, it helps you realize how real this is to them. We all walked in the movie theater knowing that it was some sort of monster, but in the movie, they had no idea, they're first thought were terrorist. It was a nice touch.

I loved the characters too, Marlena was my favorite, kinda sad that she died. " Whoa I'm feeling something here. Are you aware of Garfield?" lol, she was definitely the best.

The movie was amazing, way better then Godzilla. And thats a fact.

I hate the people who whine about this movie saying "oh you don't know what happened to it, or where it came from or what it was." They have to think. If something like that really happened, and some kids with a video camera captured it, they would'nt be focused on uncovering the secrets and origins of the monster, they would be focused on getting the hell out of Manhattan, and survival. Which is what the movie was about. Don't blame the movie, blame your un-creative mind.

I agree with the grey blob! ^

I went at a midnight showing so I got tickets fairly easy at the door, but it would be a good idea to pre-order tickets anyway.

yup she was in smallville too for a couple episodes

what happened to Marlena -- did she exploid? or...???

and when the head of the statue of Liberty was in the streets -- why was everyone just standing around taking pics of it with their phone... I would have been running...

just got back from seeing it... loved it! 😍

EDIT

I saw this yesterday and I will have to say this was probably the most intense movie I've seen in my life at the cinema. The only problem I had was the annoying camera movement(especially in the beggining at the party or when they're running) and the party itself. Totally boring and stupid. After that it was dope. Definately worth $6 admission ticket.

Btw what did you people like better I Am Legend or Cloverfield?
