Spoiler:
I don't feel like reading all 30 pages, but I saw the movie twice, once on it's premier night, and another a day later. The first time I saw it I left disappointed, the second time I saw it I appreciated it a lot more, it satisfied everything, but still left me wanting more, it also left me thinking, if something did attack NY like that, that's how everything would go down, the movie was very believable and it wasn't like every other monster flick we're the main character survives and everyone lives happily ever after. It was wonderfully written, and the way they shot it with a hand held camera was amazing, the acting was incredible, the only spotty acting I saw was the head military guy who said 'whatever it is it's winning", The only thing I'm still debating is, if the film was about the monster, or about the kids trying to escape the monster. I'm leaning more to the side of over all it was about the monster due to when the film 1st opened and it said " Camera found in area formally known as Central Park" leading me to believe that the movie was just evidence in the big scheme of things.
And thats my two cents.

All in all, I thought it was well-done.

As for quick-healing injuries, getting the hell away from the monster is a primary concern over broken bones and impalement and whatever. I'm sure they were in a lot of pain anyways, but I know I wouldn't go "Guys, I need to sit, I think my leg is broken," if the monster was anywhere near my city, let alone my state...

And I don't think the creature snuck up on them in the field. They were disoriented from the helicopter crash and panicking with Rob's injury and just crazed in general, and the monster stomps in.

Good movie, but godzilla would pwn it idk bout king kong

I enjoyed the movie a lot. I was skeptical about the filming style but it really puts you right in the experience unlike regular filming. There were enough shots of the monster to keep me satisfied and the acting was pulled off well on everyones' behalf.

Overall, nice movie to kick off the year. 8.5/10

"Hey! haven't I seen this kind of monster before....Aliens maybe?" Then it hit me. This monster isn't original at all. It's clearly inspired by Alien.

How? What part? And actually, I thought the characters seemed really realstic. Just you're average young aduts getting drunk at a party, before the sh*t goes down. Though, Marlena did seem to be the most realistic person there.

When they enter the field hospital

Spoiler:
we see a guy whose torso is rip open then we see Marlena shadow behind the tent explode. The whole chest busting look very familiar to Aliens

lol!

I don't really like movies that focus mostly on the plot or character development, so I usually avoid them, and as a result I guess I have low standards for a movie character. Which is why, I guess, I actually felt slight remorse for some of them when they died. I dunno, but there's a difference between a bunch of stupid white teenagers and they're token minority friend running off to do something stupid, then dying one-by one, like "Hey I heard this House is haunted lolz let's go in there and see for ourselves!", then a bunch of them die.

But, when watching this movie, it just seemed really f*cked up to me how a bunch of people who aren't doing anything illegal or wrong, just minding there own business, get screwed like that 😬

oh, that part. That might be slightly Alien-esque, but that one thing certainly does not make the monsters themselves "not original at all", as you put it.

I agree,

Spoiler:
I think the smaller creatures have a poisenous bite and the poison is what caused Marlena to explode.

Well yea, thats what happened... whatever it is they carry in their bites caused that

maybe a high concentrated pepsi and pop rocks

Wikipedia says

Spoiler:
Human's have a fatal reaction to the bite itself, not nessisarily poison I don't think.

there has to be something in the bite to cause it.

True, if that is the case.. which it is.. then it is a poison anyway because the definition of a poison is just some chemical or something that is harmful to take into the body..

SO yeah I guess it is a poison. There saliva maybe?

and btw it was funny how we where all off on how the monster looked "wasnt no damn whale lol"
