it doent say we are alive it either says they'r alive or its alive and i cant w8 fer the second 1 but i think there was more than 1 because hen hud was standing under it it looked really small but when it was bombed by stealth bomber it looked huge. i also think it came from under the ocean because inthe begginig rob had on slusho t shirt and thats a deep sea drilling company and there are also alot of other clues on were it came from but that was the biggest. also it was kindof off topic but i just wanted to say it 🙂.
Concerning Lily (taken from IMDB):
After the helicopter leaves, we don't see her again, so there is no definitive answer, but events occur that could indicate she survived or didn't survive.
In the radio transmission after Rob, Beth and Hud's copter crashes and the camera is pointed at the busted seat, you hear them say "Helicopters: All down. 15 minutes until hammer down. Sirens will sound 2 minutes out." If this group included Lily's helicopter, she could possibly have died. Also, after the second helicopter takes off we see a flaming mass thrown into a military truck. That flaming mass could be Lily's helicopter.
However, the time between the two helicopters taking off was more than a few minutes, giving her helicopter a great deal of time to get off of the island. Most would say Lily was the only survivor of the group. In addition, if Lily's helicopter had been the flaming mass mentioned above, the three remaining characters certainly would have noticed, and reacted with horror. They had no such reaction.
With that in mind the second helicopter also had ample time to pull away from the creature and didn't, and when lily gets into the helicopter rob says "we'll be right behind you", their helicopter crashed, implying that possible her crash foreshadowed theirs. and the "few minutes" mentioned above was only enough time for the LZ to clear for the next helicopter it really wasn't that long. i believe if you watch the crash in question :lily's: you will see a rotating blade amongst the fire.
Additionally, in the penultimate scene, when Rob is listing the people he saw killed by the monster, he mentions Marlena, Jason, and Hud. Lily's name is not spoken, which suggests that he personally does not think her dead.
One thing that Lily has in common with every other character from Cloverfield that has died (Rob, Beth, Hud, Marlena) is that the last time she has also logged into her viral Myspace account is 1/18/2008 meaning if she has survived that attack she has yet to log in on her own, or most likely, like the rest of the characters, she has also died and the last time she logged into Myspace was the same date as the rest of the protagonists did before they died.
Again, I believe she's OK lol, but they made good points
also i think i know why they call it cloverfield because in the begginig they saw a clover field and when hud was standing under th beast its gills or whatever opened up and it was sortof in the shape of a clover.
i dont think lily is dead because when they took off lily helicopter was goin in a different direction than rob and huds because they went to the right and as lily chpper ascended it was moving twords the left but iy could have when to the right out of camera shot i dont know but i m just geussing.
Well, I could see how that might beneficial.
It's a mixed bag because the producers know that Cloverfield received a lot of criticism due to the handheld view point. However, a lot of people will see the producers as "selling out" if they make the sequel using a different viewpoint. As much people hated the camcorder aspect, a ton of people, myself included, loved it.
I personally would prefer them to keep the camera-viewpoint, but I'll go see it regardless, godwilling.
yeahh with the camcorder it added more mystery and put you more into the movie other than just watching and being told everything with the hand held u found out stuff as they did not just been told and i couldnt imagine it being so good without the camcoeder like when the soldiers came out of nowere with the tanks abd stuf it wouldnt have been so good if it was just a normal camera movie but ya i would see it regardless 🙂 i probably repeated myself alot

I agree.
I liked Cloverfield a lot, but the way the movie was shot, is what really made it special for me.

Jason is 100% dead.
