Just watched it last night, and i must say it SUCKED the big one.
I understand that it was suppose to look as if it was filmed from a hand held camera, but man, just shoot it from that angle but keep it in focus and stop having it jump around so much and it took 20minutes just to get into the attack. And that camera must of been welded to the guys head cause it never flew out of his hands,
I am glad I downloaded it and watched it for free, and i was able to fast forward through all the crap which was the whole movie by the way.
If i had gone to the theater to see it I would of walked out within the first 15 minutes any way.

I hear they're making a new Godzilla, should be more suitable for you.

You have zero right to complain, you didn't lose anything from it that you didn't choose to give.

Seeing this movie not in the "big screen" would take away a lot of the aspects that made it good, the feeling of you being in the predicament for one.

Most likely though, he like a certain other person, foolishly built the movie up in their head to be something else and are now disappointed that it wasn't a cookie-cutter-giant-monster-movie as they had hoped.

I won't be buying the DVD despite it being one of my favourite movies.

It's just not a movie you watch sitting on your bed, or in the comfort of your living room.

come on it was the biggest piece of crap i have scene , as i said i am glad i downloaded and didn't spend anything on it.
I am sick of these movies with all the hype or people and critics praising it, and when I come to watch it, it is absolute crap. case in point 40 year old virgin.

You should check out Cloverfield 2 when it comes out soon; it might fix pt. 1.

And the 40 year old virgin was an ok download. It had a couple of chuckle worthy parts.

I friggin' love the movie. Truly one of the scariest movies in years.
Now I have giant monster phobia.

Actually, I experienced this as well. I live right by a beach. You can see the water from my front yard. When I arrived home from the film I immediatly turned around to make sure their was not a monster coming out of the water. lol....I know.....I suck...

Did you hear it would be out soon, or is this another successful prediction along the lines of "It's Godzilla."?

Just asking.

it's already been talked about by J.J. like days after the movie. And work has already started, i bet. and so what if it comes out sooner than later.

Hell, "Saw" comes out every holloween, and it seems to work. Shows do it with episodes everytime.

and true i thought it was godzilla at first when i saw the trailer last summer, but as recorded, in July to be exact, i retracted that statement and said that there's absolutely no way it's godzilla cause of movie rights.

And i wrote this a full half year before cloverfield came out.

His analogy wasn't to portray "It wasn't good." though.

His analogy was to portray that he felt it was missing something, it wasn't "missing" anything. The FILM wasn't missing anything inherently, it just didn't include the crayon coloured explanations he wanted.

It's simply not his kind of movie, and yet, he's gonna wait, wait, wait, spend money on Cloverfield 2, then probably moan about it. That's if J.J. Abrams doesn't dumb it down for the people that bitched, then he'll like it.

I get that they weren't going for the typical formula, but I thought they didn't even do a good job at that. I was not very impressed or intrigued by it. They failed to make me believe that the footage was or could have been real. They did a good job at making everything seem unstaged as far as where the movie takes you physically, i.e. from the party, to the streets, to the subway, to the knocked over high rise, etc., but the behavior of characters, their fear seemed too fake and contrived for the sake of telling the lame love story. One part that annoyed me was how right after the guy finds out his brother died, he allowed his friend to stick a video camera in his face while he was going through the emotions. Now if he had yelled at his friend and told his friend to turn the camera off, that would have been more believable, then they could have had a jump cut and continued on with the adventure as they did in other parts of the movie. But they insisted on capturing the emotional moments which were way too contrived for me.

Work has not started on the sequel yet, it's only in idea stages according to JJ. The writer and director of the first have apparently come up with an idea. But only idea right now.

Then fair play to you, because whilst it didn't bother me, I can clearly see why it'd bother others. You just gave me a clear, concise and reasonable critique of the movie that suggests to me you did see what they wanted to achieve, but they just didn't do it for you.

Not something idiotic "It didn't have an ending, it sucked, it gargled horse cum. It had no ending." diatribe that proves nothing besides how you didn't grasp what they were going for.

idiotic cause you don't agree.

He doesn't agree, either.

He just has a clear, intelligent critique. He's not bitter. Don't get upset, boy. Just accept it.

I havent seen Cloverfield yet, feel free to make fun of me.
