Yeah, way to build credibility for your bad guy....

It was originally intended to be done by professional swordfighting stuntmen, but Lucas pitched a sudden tantrum and thirty minutes before filming wanted the real actors to do the fight. Blunder on his part.

Quite an *******, thanks to him one fo the suppose most espectacular duels from Star Wars history and a turning point in the plot, is no less then a joke...

To be honest i expected the mace vs palp fight to be alot more violent and brutal. That would be so satisfying

It should have been absolutely amazing. Instead, it's one of the most painful duels in the PT. The only duel I cringe more while watching is the ANH duel.

At least they didn't mess up the Rots finale too much, though. Other then the unnecessary twirls and such I thought it was a good showing of what Jedi are supposed to fight like.

Well GL did explain it well, even if he was just full of shit. They both moved faster than the eye could see so to make the audience view the fight, they slowed it down. Although at this point, I would have rather seen two dots dooking it out rather than what I saw. I'm surprised Yoda and Sidious didn't go at full speed.

Bah, he is full of shit. I'm surprised he even offered an explanation; typically GL just makes odd changes to the movies or random decisions and then doesn't explain them at all.

Wasn't it first planed that stun doubles of Mcdarmid and S. L. Jackson fight, but reconsidered in a last moment, because he wanted the fight to be more emotional. Which is why i don't get, why bother, there is no history between Mace and Palpatine, the duels that had to have more emotions are Yoda-Dooku(Master-Padawan) and Obi-Anakin(Master-Aprentice).
While its forgivable for Yoda-Dooku fight, because Dooku needed to escape, there is no excuse for Obi-Anakin, it needed more emotions.

i cud see it now anakin- this is the end for u my master emperor- anakin u will pay for disobeying me he zaps him with lightning anakin lets out his saber and blocks it then rederects it back at him emperor falls 25 feet backwards anakin- u shall die emperor-so be it jedi lets out his saber and ATTACKS (duel of the fates)song starts 20 seconds later anakin is to fast and knocks the saber right out of the emperors hands and just when he is about to kill him palpatine zaps him with lightning and hes on the ground dead palpatine wins
