A religious conversation ending before I can post? **** THAT!!!You are implying that a being such as a supposed God would even be bound by the same concepts of morality that we are. When from a logical perspective, why would he be?
When water floods an ant colony, do you stop to help it? Would you even take notice or care?
Why would a cosmic entity that is infinitely out greater have any real care for us?
If God truly exists, I do not believe he would concern himself with human affairs, considering our laughable insignifigance and smallness within the universe. Why would something so small, smaller than the difference between a whale and at atom, matter to something as large as God?
They say God is omnipresent, basically, he is the universe. If this is true, should we not look at the workings of the universe? When a hurricane ruins a city, was it because the hurricane was evil? If a star goes supernova, and the life within the solar system dies as a result, would it be because the star was malevolent? If the Big Chill is possible (Really going to happen), and the universe expands forever, decaying all the particles of the universe, killing all life. Will it be because the universe is evil?
Personally, I think if there is a God, he would be like what he represents, neutral, not good or evil, he simply is.
Just my two cents. Stuff.
God created us in his image. You do present good and valid points, but the fact remain that God did not focus his attention on all the creatures and things in the world. He focused it on us. As such, implying that we meant more to him than ants and boars.
Sure, he could have stopped caring, but he cared enough to cast Adam and Eve out of Eden. He cared enough to flood whatever the place was, cast that loctus terror. He cared enough to make sure the mortals knew that they should worship him and none other.
"I am the Lord your God. You shall have no other Gods before me"
Then the ten commandments basically go on with a lot of "do not" stuff.
All I am saying is that for an entity that expressed such care for the lives of a human, he sure does care an aweful little. Perhaps he gave up on us, or he expect us to fix the mess his free will has thrown us into.
All I know, is that if this is the God we all praise, he is not good. Not evil, don't get me wrong, but not good. You look through the bible, and to my understanding, the majority of Gods interactions were to bring harm to some (In favor of others of course)
Cain and Abel.

Spooky. We were talking about you just yesterday, but welcome back! Wherever did you go?

Late to the party.Shin, you do realize that even Master Roshi in Dragon Ball was able to blow up the moon? As the first DB moon buster, he is the standard.
FA, your statement is true except for one particular bible. The rest are lies or have twisted, self-serving meanings.
I dont believe you when you said that you dont understand faith.
When you hit "submit reply" you had faith that the computer would make your message appear instead of something going wrong. Even something that simple is an example of faith.
When you cast your ballot for election, you have faith that whoever you voted for will fulfill his promises that he made. That's the same mentality that pious people have about their god.
Children have faith that their parents will provide and take care of them. It's the same for people and their gods.

Faith is not a reasonable expectation that something will happen based on prior evidence that it does every time, which is your first example.
And for the other two? No, I don't have faith those things will happen. I know that whoever I vote for, they won't live up to all of their promises; I simply hope they will live up to some of them. And a child's faith in their parents can be extremely easily shattered, so please do not use that example with me.
And it is not even close to having faith in some sort of god or higher being.
