-Is a matter of preference.
-Depends on more than one medium, only one of which is being argued for in favour of Digimon. Shall we bring up the games?
-Ignores that Digimon in an effort to be more "serious" invoked several anime cliches that make me angry. :C Perhaps evne codified them.

We can judge based on the quality of stuff but we can never change preference.

Never played them or had desire too. My friends did buy a Digimon game for the DS and surprised me by saying they enjoyed them more than Pokemon. And considering they are Pokemon fans it did surprise me.

Pokemon did too?

Bring up the games, Digimon World had more depth and investment from the player to raising your single Digimon than any pokemon game did.

Yes, let's use the one example that fits your point so that we might prove it.

Do tell though. I'm curious what the reason and method for growing flesh into metal bodies with cannons is.

Geodude goes from being a rock, to a rock with legs, to a prettier rock with legs.

They aren't real. They don't need to reproduce or anything like that so the changes they go through are mostly forced. Sorta like upgrading your computer.

Tell me that after you've IV bred.

Where is this argument going?

So it isn't actually various reasons. It's all the single same reason of "just because."

Well, Pokemon is just a pretty bad TV Show generally. It lacks any depth.

Having played pokemanz competitively, I /strongly/ disagree. There are entire sites and articles dedicated to breeding and raising your pokemanz.

I enjoyed Pokemon on tv. It was a very good show at the best of times and barely watchable at the worst.

I enjoyed season 1 of Digimon more than anything from Pokemon though.

From what I've heard, it goes like this:

Digimon anime >>>> Pokemon anime.

Pokemon games >>>> Digimon games.

Based only on seconhand information and the fact I heard someone say this once.

Well no, they do it when they need to. And actually there are limitations. One actually. Gotta keep 'em fed.

I wouldn't say that. It has some good moments, like when Ash says goodbye to Pikachu and Butterfree and yada yada. Problem was these moments never seemed to compensate for the episodes in between.

My condolences.

Mostly due to the popularity of the franchise rather than the games themselves.

Well, that made me laugh.

No, you /need/ these to play competitively. The depth of pokemon is retarded.

Says the Poketard. estahuh

Competitive play is also due to mad popularity.

IV's and EV's are things that the games don't so much as breathe a word about and were discovered by either massive fans or hackers of the games. The common player of Pokemon would have no idea what IV's are unless said massive fans uploaded the info onto said sites.

Depth is fine when the common player can see it. Otherwise its rather pointless. 😐

That is the worst argument I've seen from you yet.

By the way, there have been EVs in the games since R/B/Y and items that affect them since R/S/E.

If that's the case, Digimon wins in design for having several designs better than Mewtwo.

Not that design is one of his strongest suits anyway. Ho-oh still remains my favorite pokemon in that department, along with the legendary dogs and such.

And not disagreeing that digimon > pokemon in design, but the pictures you posted of Giaru and Gabumon are really one of the worst, unfair comparisons you can make. Who other than Moo likes Giaru anyway?

Digimon was definitely a far superior show to Pokemon.

But is Pokemon really about the show?

No. Anyone who thinks it was about the show (instead of the games) was never a true poke fan, to me anyway.

Having done the same, I'm gonna have to back you on that one.

And can you show me an NPC talking about them? Otherwise I could not care less honestly.

I can, actually. But the NPC does not refer to them as IVs, but rather, hidden potential. Been around since Platinum, that guy.

Not to mention I was wrong about how long EV items have been around. Those have been around since RBY as well. Protein, Carbos, Zinc, and the others. NPCs talk about those too, but they don't call them EVs either.

Ah yes, cause the words "hidden potential" explain so much about the depth of the Pokemon world. Wish the game could have told me that before so I wouldn't have to start my game over trying to get Pokemon with perfect IV's. Thanks guy, really appreciate it.

And again, if the NPC isn't going to give me concrete info about IV's and EV's, why should I care about them?
