Really, there are dog people and cat people, who gravitate and have better experiences with one or the other.

You dog lovers have simply gravitated towards the inferior species.

"If you want to get technical like that, all animals under the Carnivora Order are related. However, Canidae is as closely related to Mephitidae (skunks) as it is to Ursidae. Of course, Felidae contains all the best wild animals.

Skunks are also related to dogs. Bears, Dogs, Skunks, Seals, etc they all fall under Caniforms. Which are the dog-like carnivores. As opposed to Feliforms which are the cat like carnivores.

Felidae don't contain the best animals as they don't contain Bears.

My dad and his siblings once owned a puppy when they were kids and it was blind and because of the condition it was in, the family had to leave her behind in a pound when they had to move and that's not the sad part. Before they walked out of the pound, they said they had to leave the dog behind and when the dog heard it, she made a sound that sounded like she was saying "what?" Right when they got in the car, they heard that pup howling. They almost ended up in therapy.

My dog has jumped out of the window of a moving car simply because she saw a lake and wanted to swim.

Cats cannot reach this level of crazy awesome.

Sob stories can be applied to most if not all pets.

I'm thinking of the Golden Compass series now. haermm

Case and point on the intelligence matter I suppose.

But bears aren't cool at all.

Yeah, because they're too smart to do something so completely and utterly stupid ๐Ÿ˜›

Since when is a ridiculously idiotic action likely to cause harm 'crazy awesome'?

Bears are awesome, except the pedobear thing.

You seem to have misspelled 'especially.'

How would I be dishonest? Just because dogs do really stupid things doesn't make them more loving. Dogs are territorial, that's why they do things like that, not because they feel any loyalty to you.

'Stupid'. Sure. Love makes you do stupid things.

Dogs are territorial? What? So are cats, highly territorial. You can't try to conveniently explain away mechanisms of dogs having specific behaviors and then not realize that cats only became domesticated because they too have mechanisms that allowed them to adapt to living with us in the first place, same as dogs.

It just so happens that the hardwiring of a dogs brain that allows them to have a social structure also allows them to do things that are more in-line with our notions of 'love' since we too have a strict social structure.

The good General would take a bullet for you right? Because he loves you? Well, so would a dog. Because he loves you too. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have you ever seen a cat depressed because their favorite person is gone? I have, and it's far more heartbreaking than anything I've seen from a dog. [/B]

I've never seen that, mostly because it would have to be extraordinarily rare. I seen that from dogs everyday when their owners simply getting back from work. I've also see cats become strays happily living out their lives with no need for their former owners.

Dogs are more attached to their owners, and their friends in general. A dog saved another dog that was hit by a car on a highway(you will not see this from a cat. ever). A dog was seen caring for another while both were stranded during the tsunami in Japan.

Cat people are so easy to dismantle, they have the lowest of expectations that no dog owner would be impressed by because what cat owners get as an exception is simply par for the course with any mutt. ๐Ÿ˜„

*checks* Nah.

My dog went insane and tried to 'protect' my mother from anyone entering the house. We had to get rid of him.

My cat is adorwable and fluffy.

Obviously I win the argument therefore.

๐Ÿ™ Sad story bro.

I have four dogs. Two of them I greatly enjoy the company of. The other two I would happily be rid of.

I would take a cat over any of them.

Just because you've never seen it doesn't mean it's rare or never happens. I've seen just as many dogs happily not give a damn about their owner.

"I've never seen it" doesn't mean the same thing as "It'll never happen".

God, I'd hope not. And no, most dogs wouldn't. Those stories you here about are the one-in-a-million exceptions, not the rule.

Hell, I grew up with pet dogs. We never had a cat until I was 11. And I still think cats are the superior pets. Pets with dependency issues are not my cup of tea.

I suppose, in the sense that the more intelligent the animal, the more likely they seem to be to take risks. People and dolphins for example. ๐Ÿ˜‰

It was neither the dog or the cat that won. It's actually the deer.

A wild animal beating up on domestic ones? What a surprise.

That cat was pretty awesome though. Poor dog. What did he do?

Man, that deer was a ****ing psycho!

Everyone knows the real manly man's pet is the humble tortoise.
