I want to make one thing clear here. I maybe a homophobe but I ain't the "people who are different should disappear" type homophobe but the "I'm cool with what they're doing as long as they keep it to themselves" type homophobe and I bet the only reason you and the others jump on me about what I am is because a)I'm the first to admit it in here or b)you're doing this just to make yourself giggle. Enough is enough. Build bridges people, not walls so Blax can troll about something else other than what causes the unnecessary wars within America between social groups.
You know that sort of "oh I don't mind so long as they keep it to themselves" casual homophobia is just as harmful, right?
I'll stop attacking that sort of attitude when it no longer exists.

Hey, I don't mind if you and everyone else in this forum declares their sexuality but if say like a dude did that right next to me in person (say like a few inches next to me), that would just be awkward.

Did what? Another dude? Yeah, I would feel awkward too if that were happening a few inches next to me.Silly child.
18 year olds are not kids. Anyway, it's natural for a person to feel a bit uncomftorable around folks who believe what they're doing is also natural. It's a common fact. For example, people who do not appreciate pain feel rather uneasy around other people who are into hardcore S&M.
I would not be particularly comfortable with most people, sexual orientation be damned, having sex A FEW INCHES AWAY FROM ME.
I mean, unless this was leading somewhere cool. But if it was two stranger dangers, yes, that would bother me. BECAUSE TWO PEOPLE I DO NOT KNOW ARE ****ING RIGHT NEXT TO ME.
Unless you meant something like making out?
If so, grow up.

Haha typical childish response. And it really would not be any of your business what they're into would it?

I think he did mean that but failed to specify. This is leading to some lulz for me though.
That said, I would probably not like it for people to makeout right next to me. But that is due to other reasons. Their sexual orientation is the least of my worries.

One's sexual preferences do not dominate their entire lives. Adults have lives outside sex, you know. To think that, say, S&M practitioners are always in S&M mode is silly and childish.
More to the point, why would a person of either gender declare their sexuality mere inches from you? The only example I can think of is a help group for sexually repressed individuals, in which case facing and coping with that discomfort would be the entire point, wouldn't it? I'm sure there are many cases where declaring your sexuality would be an acceptable and correct action!
I would be uncomfortable by anyone having sex a few inches away from me, unless it was a threesome I was also participating in.
And considering that "declaring one's sexuality" can be as simple or innocent as two people holding hands, or someone saying "my boyfriend/girlfriend said this"...you really need to get over yourself if that makes you uncomfortable. Your comfort in situations like that doesn't trump someone's right to be themselves.

It is natural.
And considering you don't display the maturity of an adult (many 18 year olds don't)...yes, you are a kid.

Also I really hate the word homophobe, it isn't really a proper descriptor of people's reasons for disliking teh ghey.
I can't blame you for the hate likewise for the innocence. I hope you don't mind this being said, but your disdain for the word homophobia is a misconception. At least that's what it usually is, so don't hate me for pointing this out ๐
The part that people accused of it don't like about the word is the "phobia" part. It's understandable because of how it's used in common life: Arachnophobia, atychiphobia, coulrophobia. Now it's not wrong to say that each and every one of these express a fear towards the subject, but that's only part of the truth.
A phobia is not restricted to fear of something. Not in the sense that commonly is viewed as fear, at least. When you experience something that instill negative emotions to the degree where you are socially or sometimes even physically impaired because of this reaction, then you are expressing at the very least a mild case of phobia ๐ A phobia is a reaction in your mind that arouse the emotion that a specific activity is wrong. In this case homosexuality.
Homophobia is not saying that you are afraid of homosexuals. It's saying that you experience antipathy, contempt, prejudice, aversion, and/or irrational fear towards this group of people and it's not wrong even if the latest example is not included โ I have a phobia for heights and haven't flown once in my entire life. It's not that I'm afraid of the height. I have a respect for the altitude and know that if anything goes wrong, I am helpless inside a plane. I very rarely go anywhere where I'm not in control of the situation.
Again. It's not necessarily when something is frightening that you express phobia. You can have a timid respect for the subject or as listed revolving homophobia: Antipathy ๐
I apologize if you found this invasive. Many make a hen out of a feather on this matter and feel offended when accused of being homophobic when in truth it is just a diagnosis of what two specific parts of your mind, the amygdala and the hippocampus, register as a dangerous experience. There's a phobia for everything.
The described irrationality is natural to the one experiencing it but irrational to those who are liberated from the ignorance. Fear is at all an irrational human emotion. No one should feel offended when being accused of expressing a certain phobia ๐

Well at least you and Kaliero are starting to know what I'm talking about and let's be honest, we know that I make $#!tty examples but at least there's a few that understand what I'm trying to say. I'm not saying people do have these interactions next to me, I was just saying since they don't ever do that next to me, then what makes the gays bug me?
You know, that has got to be the first time we ever agreed upon something.
Exactly how do you expect people to show off their maturity in forums like this? Let me tell you something, watching adult films, talking about pleasuring yourself, and mentioning "DAT @$$" does not make you mature! Heck, I can say "I watch Baywatch because of the slow mo" and just like that, people in here will think I'm mature because that's just how this place seems to work and that's just sad.

Adding the haha displays a sign of immaturity and you're calling me a child?
