... Zasalamel is gone?

What the ****, really? After that character development he had in his ending of the last game ("Hey maybe living forever could be cool after all"😉?

Now that's just ****ed up.

I am glad Rock is gone. He pissed me off. Because he was 5'11", built like a train, and weighed only 170 pounds. **** you Namco.

Yeah, Zasalamel being gone really bugs me.

The story mode depresses me too, because it's all centered around Sophitia's kids, and half the cast doesn't even appear in it. The convoluted individual stories of the previous games are gone, and the focused story feels like so much less content.

Then there's the custom character pieces, which unlock with levels gained by fighting matches, and since Arcade Mode doesn't offer any individual stories now the most efficient way to do so is to fight online. It's a lot slower than by buying them like before, plus you can't control what unlocks when.

Basically, except for nerfing Guard Impacts (they needed it, games were getting too defensive when even safe attacks could be countered and punished), and possibly deeper customization with stickers and patterns, I'd say that SC4 is a much better game than 5 at this stage.

What the **** is this.

You have killed any interest I had in the game. haermm

**** Sophitia's kids.

Though this reminds me of when I fought the final boss of that Create a Character mode in SCIII. I lost to that dick so many times I unlocked every item in the game. I sucked at fighting games back then lol.

Yeah, game sounds like a huge step backwards. Shame too.

R.I.P. ROCK! Even if your bones were made of styrofoam, causing you to only weigh 180 lbs, you still had the manliest theme of the series.

BANGOOO

Yeah, I'm gladly sitting SC V out, the fourth one was so great, what happened?!

I couldn't even tell you what the story of SCV is, and I finished the story mode right away. I just skipped through everything. I don't care about the story. It's a fighting game, there is no real story there, just flimsy excuses to have random people beating each other up.

The customization is the most important thing to me, and I much prefer options being unlocked by leveling up (so you'll definitely get it all fairly quickly) as opposed to by gaining achievements like in SC4 (which means chances are most people won't get everything). I also hated the stats thing in SC4 which meant that if you simply created characters cos they looked cool you'd wind up on a disadvantage.

And honestly...I've never, ever played a fighting game and not spent the vast majority of the time playing against other people. Arcade/offline modes have always been for testing out characters I don't use much before using them against someone else, and that's it. I don't see the point otherwise, because it's simply not as much fun when not against someone else.

I didn't like the fact that alot of the single-player aspect is gone in terms of more online content that I can't take advantage of because it sucks where I live. I may pick it up waay later after a price drop just for the customization, though I highly doubt it. My favorite character is gone, so is his fighting style, I want a me-user in this game!

"It's a fighting game" isn't excuse for a shitty story mode.

Story mode was never anything but something to rush through real fast to get the hang of the controls before challenging friends. I always saw it as just a tutorial mode.

Biggest reason I disliked SCV's story mode, in fact - I do not like the styles of the characters you play as in it, as they aren't ones I'd normally ever use.

Whooooooooooa story mode in SCV is not character selected?

Unless you can pick other characters a second go through (which I doubt), nope. You play as Patroklos, Pyrrha, and another character or two that I don't recall. Annoying, because I do not like their styles - Alpha Patroklos in particular is terrible, I thought.

Who the **** are they and why should I care?

Hell if I know. Apparently Sophitia's kids, but having skipped through the cutscenes and stuff...yeah, no idea.

The story is a narrative focusing on Sophitia's daughter Pyrrha, kidnapped by Tira back in SCIV and groomed in the 17 years since to be the new vessel for Soul Edge. Her son, Patroklos, has wandered Europe searching for Pyrrha. Patroklos comes under Siegfried's wing and eventually is chosen as the new wielder of Soul Calibur, and powers it up with the other two sacred weapons with Ivy's help, then goes and finds Pyrrha just as she's corrupted by Soul Edge, kills her, goes back in time... somehow and then doesn't kill her, and their sibling bond stops the wills of Soul Calibur and Soul Edge through plot contrivance so they can skip off and try to live their lives.

That sounds unbearably shitty.

It's the barest-bones single player. I'm pretty sure Project Soul just decided that since all the other big sellers were focusing on online multiplayer, they'd do the same, and at some point completely forgot about writing stories for the rest of the cast. And apparently this is starting a new "direction" for the series plot.

😖hifty:

Legion left a bad taste in my mouth. I can't find a good copy of salamander, so I'm bouncing back to Fulgrim. Beyond that, thousand sons is my last hope for good 40k fluff.

Unless anyone has some reccommendations.

As for soul caliburs story... It hasnt been good since sc2 imo

Which is a shame, because the latest mk had a very satisfying story.

Today I see Megadeth, Motorhead, Volbeat, and Lacuna Coil live. 😎

LACUNA COIL <3

Jealous.
