Me and Batdude has a big discussion about this....thread got closed, but it covered alot of the info. Maybe I could get Delph to reopen that thread and have a go at BD's last point.
Anyways Iceman wins. Being that Mags is NOT an elemental being (being of just magnetic energy) and anything saying that is just pure speculation at the moment. Iceman freezing him at absolute zero *which he has done at least once to my knowledge (to a bomb)* will make him immobile. Period.
How often is Iceman the immortal / mist form / water pulling "God"? Is that like a regular thing for him, or has it only happened 3-4 times in his 50 year history?
If I recall correctly, he got whooped by Lorna in UXM 470-480 (can't remember the exact issue) but it was after she got dumped on her wedding day.
If she can kick Icemans butt, so can Magneto.
Because most writers want to focus on him as still a troubled young adult who does not fully understand his own powers. Yet if you actually bother to read his history, he has come a LONG LONG LONG way. And a lot of the things he has learned are popping back up here and there (Mike Carey giving Iceman more coverage and power usage being one of them)
If we take him as a whole, we know he can do the things we say he can do because he was taught by Prosh, and later did it for himself. Its just writers cant seem to find it in them to NOT reuse the same he doesnt know his own potential crap storyline.

Iceman is good, but Magneto can counter his powers and is more adept at control energy and radiation than Iceman is. He can just encase Iceman within a magnetic field and port him into the sun. Or put a field around all of his dispersed molecules so that he can reform himself. Iceman is at Magneto's mercy as far as I see it. I honestly don't know where all the "OMGICEMANCATBEBEAT" hype came from. His stock has risen a lot in the past coupla years, but he's not on the level of, and most importantly, his powers don't match up well against Magneto.

Not trying to get on your case or anything Blair nor is the comment directed at you. Although I do agree with your rant, writers can be idiots at times, it sounds eerily familiar to what some people might say about storm.

Has magneto ever teleported molecules to the sun?
Has she shown the ability to manipulate any radiation other than a photon or two?
