The Incredible Hulk

If he has control, then how is he stupid for transforming indoors?

well if he has complete control over the Hulk then it's ok

but if he only has control over the transformation, then Hulk will, inadvertently, break the cabin

Ah, good/funny point about the lack of foresight! 😄

I just saw the incredible hulk this weekend. I thought it was ok, I felt a little bored most of the time. It was better than the first, but that's not saying much. I like Ed Norton's acting, but I thought the Hulk model and rendering wasn't that great.

The Hulk's design was perfect. It definitely wasn't too human but wasn't too monstrous either. The CGI isn't better than in the 2003 movie but it's still damn good.

From what I've seen & read, this film looks like it's going to be great. The picture we have of the Hulk's face looks great & Louis Letterier's Hulk looks much better than Ang Lee's Hulk (as far as the face is concerned). I'll be glad when we get a full body shot.

Never thought id say this bout a HULK movie. But its was really good.

Wasnt just all speciall effects the acting was actually decent to.

I'm going to see it again tomorrow.

Overall I have mixed feelings about the two films

ang lee
had the right amount of power tossing a 60 ton tank half a mile
good jumping and running
reflexes too good (batting away misiles)
Battle with the army good in a desert where they can really unleash really reminiscent of early hulk comic books
good healing power
good invulnerability
far too tall at 15 foot
proportions wrong legs too short
origin too different from comic (nanomeds)
good focus on the psychology of hulk (his mother's murder)
crap super villain didn't like the rendering of absorbing man although I liked Nick Nolte
Eric banner is no Bruce banner at 6'3" and 180lbs
too bright green didn't work well on big screen
Jeniffer Conolley was brilliant Betty
Weird ambiguous ending turning into a huge soap bubble??
Liked the comic book style filming

Louis Letterer
Hulk the right size
The origin was well done and not drawn out
No reference to the psychology
Rendering of hulk excellent - dense looking flesh all squirming viens and striations Weta better than ILM
Voice and roaring better
not powerful enough struggled to toss a hummer
battle with the hulk in a park??
Liked the sonic weapon
no healing
good invulnerability
no clear evidence of the angrier … the stronger
leaping and running poor
Ed Norton - perfect banner a real nerd
Excellent super villain in the abomination another good rendering and Tim Roth is great
Abomination gets choked out with a chain a bit lame
Good introduction of the Leader
good crossover potential withiron man
William Hurt not a good thunderbolt Ross
Liv Tyler not a great betty
Lots of reference to the TV series which I hated

well i didn't like the and lee movie because of comic book style filming, if it's a movie make it look like a movie

and it was way too long, he did the whole origin story, almost the whole back story, and still added a bad guy??

i mean the origin story could be a movie in itself

the new movie did the right thing by just putting the origin story at opening credits

agreed

and I forgot the thunderclap which was good in the new movie

Not sure about "hulk smash" how'd he know to reference himself as Hulk?

I'm pretty sure Hulk has always thought of himself that way.

Yeah, he has.

but the way they set it out in the movie, cause it was kinda the media who named him the hulk in the movie.

seams a bit of a coincidence that they would know to call him it 😛

The Hulk has always been the one who named himself (except in the TV series) so it's feasible that he'd say Hulk smash without knowing he's actually being dubbed the Hulk by everyone else.

I thought it was General Ross who dubbed him hulk in the comic book. Someone who has the orgin help me out here

Usually the Hulk dubs himself but I'm not entirely sure about the first comic.

ok anyway a minor point. Still not sure which film i prefer but i know i will be in a minority here

The second movie is miles better to me. It has a better story, a better cast, it's fast paced, etc. etc. The first movie wasn't horrible or even bad, there was just too much talking and it was too slow paced. Plus, Connelly's Betty Ross was downright annoying most of the time.

I preferred the betty in the first one to Liv Tyler. The fact that she fecking whispered most of her lines is kind of annoying.

And seriously, what's up with the rebound guys? In this movie while Bruce is hiding away Betty gets with the psychiatrist and they're all happy and in love and stuff and then Bruce comes back and the psychiatrist gets dissed instantly. Same thing happened in Superman Returns with Lois Lane (And then there's also the "Oops, guess what he's not your son, he's Superman's son. lolz. Bye.), and then in Spiderman 2 when Mary Jane fakes on her own wedding to run off with Peter.

Women in comic books are total bitches.

Other than abomination and the absence of Nick Nolte and mutated dogs i prefer the original. I dont know why, but i felt an emotional connection with Banner in the first one. I suppose that is because of acting. I dont mean to suggest Norton did a bad job, because he did well. I just think Bana fit the role better. Perhaps, his face is to familiar for me.

Connelly whispered a lot too, ya know.

Well, Bruce was away for five years, and while I think they may have felt for each other, Betty & Doc Samson definitely weren't in love. And Mary Jane didn't fake her wedding, she was going to have it until she saw that Peter cared for her so much. Still, she was having the wedding just to get at Peter. Honestly, as far as I've seen, I'd rank Liv Tyler, Margot Kidder, & Bryce Dallas Howard as my favorite love interests in a comic book movie.
