We are smarter then other animals just like other animals are stronger then us. Millions of years ago, our ancestors found that intelligence gave then an evolutionary advantage. We as the human animal have developed this advantage to a great degree. Just because we are smarter, does not mean that we are better. The idea that we are better then other animals is a slippery slope. I brought up the mentally retarded because, maybe you would not take away their rights, but other people in the past have, and they were systematically killed. Human arrogance can become very “animal like”. Proof that we are animals comes from the fact that we can kill each other with no feeling.

Moron, those animals are AS EVOLVED AS US -- fact. They are as evolved as they need to be, they don't need the skill to create items and hold them -- but they might need a long neck to reach a high-up branch, as does the giraffe. The slug is as evolved as us, as it survives in the world. Anything alive today WORKED and so still exists... creatures that died out years ago didn't evolve enough and thusly -- they died.
