do microorganisms count on the no animal product thing?

They are not animals...or rather they are not part of the kingdom Animalia...if I was a vegan...I would be logical about...but what microorganisms could you possibly eat in large quantities other than cutlures that would be gross?

Next to non, I believe, but you'd have to look it up. But it's very important to get B-12.

More on B-12 sources.

Vegans annoy me.

One time, about two years ago, I had a female customer who dropped her car off to be worked on at my shop. She needed a ride to work (we give free rides to people who don't have any other means) and I offered, but she refused to go in my car because I have leather seats and she was a vegan. Honestly...🤨

PAthetic if you ask me.

Don't like the life style they live and usually I am fine with how many live. Like those who have OCD.

Omnisexual? You'll shag anything and everything?

It's a term of my own invention. It means that all of existence is my potential lover. I don't like being inhibited by traditional modes of sexuality (hetero- ; homo- ; a- ; metro- ; etc.). The basic definition I use for it is "I am attracted to exactly that to which I am attracted". Circular and a bit vague, but truthful. Men, women, meat, cities, abstract concepts, subatomic strings, etc. ad infinitum is my potential lover.

...now, in practice, I have yet to be romantically attracted to anything besides female humans. But that shouldn't necessarily pigeon-hole me into that for all time. I like keeping my options open.

...

🙂

P.S. That's not a joke. I don't plan on being attracted to inanimate objects any time soon, but it's how I legitimately think of my sexuality.

My dad's car has leather seats and I go in it. Not all vegans are the same.

Some people who are vegans do have OCD, just as runners.....etc.

most people are OCD about something, like my ballet teacher, looks normal sounds normal until one person comes out of line to see there arms better in the mirror! It can be tiny, like you HAVE to brush your hair first thing every morning or if you don't get coffee you're broken!

LOL

those are habits

not OCD

most people have habits and routines, not OCD 😛

someone who turns the oven off 7 times before they leave the house has OCD

What madness. Thank goodness they didn't have any hand in the development of our species "No, I doubt care how cold it is, we aren't wearing beast hide. I'd be better off freezing during this ice age." or "I don't care how important meat eating would be to the evolution of the human brain!"

The large amount of protein from meat eating is what allowed our primate-like ancestors to Evolve a large(r) brain, i.e. meat was the Evolutionary fuel for the modern human brain.

edit:

Another aspect of what makes the "people are not supposed/designed to eat meat" vegetarian/vegan ranters so ****ing silly. Don't eat meat if you don't want to, no worries there, but don't spout nonsense.

Ah, I didn't know about that. I'd heard that sugar was important in brian development but not that part.

Read up on human brain evolution, it's very interesting (I think)... a large "thinking" brain like ours is very taxing, if our ancestors never evolved/adapted from a vegetarian diet to a omnivore diet, we'd probably still be small, furry and be using simple sticks and stones as tools.

Any material/books in particular you recommend?

Off the top of my head, no, sorry. There's many books, do a Google search or search Amazon.

The History Channel did a decent 3-4 part episode on Human Evolution, a part of it was about the "Human Brain"... it was sometime ago, so I can't remember the name.

Well, it is linked to the theory that food, due to the brains highly chemical nature, is one of the basic ways in which the environment influenced its evolution. The body and its development are linked to the the nutrients, minerals, protein etc we consume, correct? And that food input over a long period of time can be seen to have influenced our development as a species.

In basic certain fatty-acids, docosahexaenoic acid and so on (best in sea food) have been identified as influences on changing brain chemistry allowing for larger brains (etc) with red meat also a major contributing factor due to it being a source high in protein which aided in brain growth. All this in turn required a highly efficient bloodstream to provide oxygen and keep the larger brain cool. Iron of course is integral to allowing red blood cells to transport oxygen, and a prime source of iron is red meat and would, for the omnivorous ancestors of modern humankind be the main source.

Exactly.

Exactly.

So that's why they say fish is brain food.

Yep - omega 3, Omega 6 and some other fatty acids are important for brain development and well-being.
