they marketed it wrong.
it should have been called= "Punisher: No pvssies allowed"
then the movie would've done great. its when pvssies who've never read a single punisher issue go and watch the movie and come out crying because of the blood. why critics go and watch a movie from a franchise they aren't familiar with is beyond me. F0ck critics.
best Punisher made to date. Ray Stevenson has the look and attitude for Frank Caslte. Good "comic book adaptation" means that it sticks to the comics and respects the fans. Lexi Alexander did that for us. Props to her. and props to Stevenson for a good performance.

Apart from the fact that most of the sequals are crap.
its for the fans of the franchise. that's why Punisher: war zone was given good ratings amongst fans and on IMDB.
I know this Punisher was made for that reason but i was talking about Comic book movies in general.

this should have been released in september like it was supposed to..
movies that are released in december are always x-mas type movies or academy award type movies..
Had this been released when it should 've been then perhaps it would've been successful
the problem with punisher is that he's not mainstream marvel. x-men, spderman and hulk could sell because they were movies based on the mainstream which would include kids as well as adults. punisher is too dark for kids and even for adults, the voilence might be too strong for many of them.
THAT was the problem.

Thats a bit like Spawn back in the day when they were making the film on him McFarlane did some interview going on about how the character he's too dark for kids and is'nt all colourful like superman or whoever else and one you can't exactly do colouring books on.
