I don't think so. Blade: Trinity and AVP: Requiem was released in early December and was way more successful. I'm kinda disappointed this Punisher movie was such a flop. Thomas Jane backed out for a reason I guess.
Too be fair, I'm pretty sure that both Blade 2 and AVP 1 were both, financially, not flops. Balde 3 and AVP 2 were sequals to movies that people found too not e too bad as far as movies go.

Yeah, I also read that Jane was in until he read the script and saw it was trash.
Thomas Jane said the script for the second movie was trash ???
thats a new one to me, i remember reading something he was in for this sequal and few other movies but backed out of them because of the psysical work (Going to the Gym and getting buffed up) and just thought he did'nt think it worth it going to the gym alot just to get into these characters and also he had his daughter which he was'nt seeing alot.

Funny, because the budget for WAR ZONE was more than twice the budget for the first one.

I read it's the worst Marvel flop (opening weekend gross,) since "Howard the Duck."
HEY MAN.....dont say bad shit about Howard the Duck 😠 😠 😠 bash boxing, it may not have been a big box office hit but its a damn great movie and a Cult Classic. Just like Punisher 08 is a good comic movie, just because it flopped with the cash doesnt mean is sucked.
When you have films like Transporter and Shoot Em...you pretty much seen enough macho guys shooting guns flicks. Besides those films made more money. So the mentality that "comic book fans" will go see it...just not going to help. General audiences see too many guys with guns movies and Punisher is just something that doesn't stand out.
Give The Punisher films their peaceful rest for good. Keep selling the comic book.

"What I won't do is spend months of my life sweating over a movie that I just don't believe in."
That's what Jane said. Now you can interpret that however you want, but it sounds pretty clear to me that he didn't believe in the script. They changed the script so many times that it was completely different from what it was originally suppose to be. So much so, that one of the original writers, Kurt Sutter, left the movie as well.
