No, the quote you posted regarding the star was from a non - canon fan site. The novel incident has already been addressed (it was the sub - LHW, and the Counter-Actor was involved).

Not really your Theory is fanmade!!, In the Third True Novel, "Washu," in which Washu and Naja Akara study an perplexing event in which a group of space pirates destroyed a royal ship using a Dyson Sphere type weapon. The Sphere contained within it a star, and used that star to power the weapon used to destroy the royal ship, that is canon. Counterreactor was never mentioned at all.

Here's an example of the power of the LHW. Two of the choushin clash right next to Tenchi and Z. They're the two specks of light you can see in the first frame.

That simple clash does this to the Milky way Galaxy.

You're also greatly underestimating the spaceships in that universe. For example Dr. Clay the villain in the second series had a ship that was towing a GALAXY.
