Also, we're not assigning comic book tiers here, just characters from other genres. Apocalypse's standing, while I personally disagree with it, is not up for debate in this thread. The comic tiers are simply to give a rough estimation of where characters from other genres would stack up against their comic counterparts.

I read it. It still doesn't explain. You put the characters there for us to reference and compare, correct? If, Nova/Apocalypse are placed in the same tier as Hulk/Gamora, then people with limited knowledge of the characters, will have a hard time distinguishing the power difference between certain characters in the same tier, and would most likely fail at coming up with decent matches.

People without the common sense/knowledge to come up with good matchups usually can't be helped no matter how accurate the guide is.
The tier placements are based on forum votes. This particular thread is for non-comic characters only. The comic character tier is displayed as a reference for use as a rough comparison. The fact that you may disagree with the placement of a couple comic book characters in the reference tier, while likely valid, is not the purpose of this thread, and thus irrelevent to this thread. The comic tier discussion is a different thread that is currently closed. Sorry to disappoint you guys but it's out of my hands.
