If the people don't know how to handle their preffered duel weapons, they are useless no matter what they are picking. Also there's some stuff I'd better not discuss...I'm just going to say that it's not as good as it sounded initially.
And if people got their hands on characters they know little about (for example see Entity vs King Kandy battle in the dathgoober's tournament that is finishing right now. King Kandy won by time limit (his opponent wasn't able to participate in tourney so it was technical victory) but he interpreted Emma Frost's powers in a WEIRD way, inventing things as "solid telepathy" (based on Emma's ability to blast raw psionic energy), and tried to make illusions composed of it, sort of GL constructs. That was weird and guy just got lucky) weird stuff can happen.
