You claim that they're not valid feats unless performed by Emma, yet in the next sentence you use "a telepath" instead of her.
no, i didn't, but charlotte and i had been discussing emma's abilities... i naturally assumed you meant emma... but you weren't, so my bad...
Are we arguing for Emma Frost or telepaths in general? Because right now, I was using feats of people who are inferior to her when it comes to experience and ability. I was simply using those as examples of how it could be done.
and that's fine... nobody's saying the man is impervious to telepathy...
Superman also beat Despero with a single heat vision, there's a lot of shabby writing.
unfair comparison imo...
Despero should in fact be capable of controlling Superman with relative ease.
in your opinion... mine differs... 😬
There's also an incredibly huge difference between simply affect someone's mind with telepathy and controlling them. Which one do you mean Superman would be able to resist due to his "complicated brain" ?
dude, being snide isn't going to help things... i was talking about taking him out of a fight/controlling him...
assuming superman's brain is just like everyone elses when it isn't (just like j'onn's is, and kilowog's etc) is unfair imo...
saying that telepaths have these blanket abilities is imo illogical, given the sensitive nature of their powers...
Because I think the fact that Mr.Headshot (Maxvell Lord) was easily able to affect Superman kind of contradicts that. Illusions, but telepathy nonetheless. The fact that Lord was bleeding from the nose is a sure sign of it being telepathy.
i won't debate it was telepathy, but easily? there's no knowing how long he was in superman's head poking around, looking for vulnerabilities...
While we're on the telepathy vs alien lifeforms subject, I think it should be noted that Cassandra Nova was easily able to affect and control the Shi'ar guardians. Though she is pretty much the strongest telepath in the world, being able to attack and almost take over Charles' mind when he was using Cerebra.
i don't doubt what nova did, she's quite a telepath, and would probably turn superman's brain to mush given half the chance...
Nonetheless, I still think that it's reasonable to believe that a moderately experienced telepath should be able to affect Superman's mind. Attack him, display illusions/memories, shut down bodily functions and control him.
given time, i don't see why not... but that was my original argument... they have to take him down before he attacks (even if he's not speedblitzing)
I also have to say that from what I've seen , DC telepathy has been a huge disappointment. Marvel telepaths seem to be a lot more skilled and creative when it comes to the use of their powers. With exception of Doc Psycho 🙂
what about j'onn?
