Remember it was merged with him, Thanos essentially became those infinite energies,
and as such, had the right and power to do with it as he wished.
If you control a thing, you can destroy a thing.

I have no doubt that Thanos was the most powerful thing in the story. Maybe even the omniverse as you have swayed my opinion a lil. But I do not think he was God. His lack of knowlege precludes this. And the fact that Adam Warlock and Death seemed beyond his reach at his first attempt. God does not attempt anything but once. I'd say TOAA>THANOSTHOTU>LT>Classic Beyonder. Based upon feats AND TIMELINE. Feats alone do not preclude lvls of power, but when they where performed and measured agaist others.

Beyonder's feats were turned into Universal feats (like killing "Multi" Death)
Other feats were given a side story, like when Beyonder stomped the Celestials hand to hand,
in the Retcon, they allowed the Beyonder to stomp them.
The Marvel Reality stayed the same though.
