X-Men: Utopia

Started by Grimm2293 pages

I just realized that some of the x-men's best stories have almost nothing to do with them being mutants.

Think about it. The Dark Phoniex Saga basically just showed the team as superheroes, not as mutants. This goes for most of Claremont and Byrne's work on the book.

Also, aside from the first arc, Astonishing X-men tends to shy away from the whole, mutant issue.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that the best approach to take at an xbook is to think of them more as superheroes and less as whiny people who feel sorry for themselves because they were born with superpowers

Did the next chapter come out today?

Anybody get the Messiah Complex Mutant Files?

lol gotta love the hate on x-factor simply due to logan being in it.

Actually most people hate it because it's a stereotypical 90's book that takes everything to the XTREME!!1!!

Heck I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Tony Hawk join the team and Wolverine doing endorsements for mountain dew while their at it

kitty was in x-men 204, but if what i read on whedonesque is true, the sequence goes:

x-men 204 - astonishing - messiah complex...

That's correct. Sadly Kitty is the one who looks like she's going to be six feet under.

The next Wolverine arc actually looks quite interesting. The theme Wolvey wants revenge..."Get Mystique". Well more interesting then damn hippies and vacationing in the Savage Land UXM.

What the H3ll! I hope theres a perfectly good explanation for Bishop's actions. I would hate to think that Marvel would turn him into a traitor after all the years he accused Gambit of being one.

I know. Where the hell did Bishop come from? He came out of nowhere, and blew Cable away. Is Cable dead? I hope not. Although Bishop looked more bad ass than ever.

I wonder if he's going to shoot the baby he was pointing his gun at...

I did like that las page. Bishop did looked like a badass. I wonder if Cable's plan was to send the baby into the future to save mutankind, kinda like what Cylops did with him years back.

I think that bio supports this.

Although the AXM one-shot is supposed to be a stand a lone irrc?

So the power blows out in #204 and Blindfold as a psionic precog flips out, just like how in the first Chapter of Messiah Complex Charles and Emma flip out as the power blows out everything... but in between the AXM fight their telepathic demons, Kitty steals Stuff, they go off to an alien world, and get back and no one's bothered to do anything... gah delays.

To be fair, I don't trust anyone with an American-French accent ❌

Is not a racial thing, It's a bet I lost 🙁

Why wouldn't Bishop kill the baby...its the cause for his whole shitty future.

..............have you even read a 90's comic?

your talking out your back end again arnt you?

New chapter is out and as it turned out Layla and Maddrox landed on

Spoiler:
Bishop's future and actually met him as a boy
. One thing I didnt like about this issue is everybody calling Bishop by his first name which believe the writer did intentionally so people would identify with the discover by Layla and Jamie. Another thing I didnt like was
Spoiler:
Gambit beating up Bishop with his cards since we all know that never had effect in the past since Bishop absorbs kinetic energy
. The ending surprised me. Finally the Professor will play a part in the whole event.

Spoiler:
Well they ended up burying him under tons of rubble to stop him. As far as I'm aware his absorption of kinetic energy hasn't ever been Sebastian Shaw-ish. One plothole though is how none of the X-Men's multiple telepaths have ever picked up on this though.

It's magic they don't have to explain it 😈

I remember when bishop was first introduced, they made a very strong point of letting us know bishop was vulnerable to kinetic energy...bullets and such were a weakness......when did they start making him able to absorb kinetic energy?

I thought it was kinetic energy but I meant "energy" attacks like the ones Gambit mostly used. I understand how he took him down since he pretty much dropped the roof on Bishop. His first attacks shouldnt have had an effect on Bishop.
