I bet it was just the concussive force that blew him back

Well they ended up burying him under tons of rubble to stop him. As far as I'm aware his absorption of kinetic energy hasn't ever been Sebastian Shaw-ish. One plothole though is how none of the X-Men's multiple telepaths have ever picked up on this though.

True, unless we're getting another double splash Astonishing X-Men pseudo conversation moment. That and it's Brubaker who's the sketchiest writer of this crossover.

Post-MC Information:

Spoiler:

-Bishop is apparently the antagonist in the new Cable ongoing.
-Wolverines post MC arc theme is "Get Mystique".
-X-Men Legacy(Made into an ongoing) is about Xavier and involves both Rogue and Gambit.

X-Men v2 is becoming X-Men: Legacy. So it's not really an additional title.
X-Men #207 -> X-Men: Legacy #208

Legacy Preview

I'm not sure I like the premise, frankly I didn't like Deadly Genesis much.

I don't understand why Brubaker, whose UXM has been pretty subpar - if I'm feeling generous, is continuing on with the "core" X-Men title, while Carey, whose adjectiveless X-Men has been quite good (despite the Bachalo art), will no longer be writing an ongoing team book.

X-Men v2 is gone. I'm not sure I like it's replacement premise, despite that Carey will write it.
New X-Men is gone.

And instead we get The Extreme Wolverine Squad, Cable - who I've never been particularly interested in personally, and more of Brubaker's blah UXM.

Well at least it aint a "new" title. Its just a title change. I can live with that. "X-men no more" hmmm interesting. Wonder If Cyclops or Emma die since one of the main X-men//villains is supposed to die.

Cyclops is too integral to the new X-Men dynamic they have going on, his interactions with his former teacher and mentor Xavier are good.

Emma Frost is relatively unique among the X-Women - she's distinct in her personality and viewpoint, and the stories they can tell with her, and I personally think it would be a waste to kill her off.

Very true. Everything about Legacy is very hush, hush at the moment but Carey has said that the aim is to cover up dangling plots and since he's pretty good regarding continuity and Brubaker not so much it sort of makes sense that he would be in charge of that series. He also said that he'd be involved with the X-titles up to 2009. It looks like a Magneto/Xavier team up...Shaw is going to be involved as well.

As far as Brubaker and UXM go I'm not entirely sure anymore. Hopefully his contract ends at issue 499. I've been reading the solicits for the 5 filler issues following the MC and I'm not impressed. I realize that they're trying to allow AXM: Second Stage and UXM 500 to fall around the same month but I'm not a fan of hippies and the Savage Land.

My money's on a Madrox clone since Layla said "I make it out of this" not "we make it out of this".

Here's some X-Force preview pages if no one's posted them yet:

When did X-23 become so pale that it looks like she'd burst into flames upon exposure to daylight? And what the hell happened to Rahne?

The entire premise and line-up seem relatively limited and 90's extreme!!! glossy embossed gold coverish. But then maybe Yost and Kyle can make it work.

(Also they already established a while back that Xavier already has secret operatives, with Sage as well as Mystique and Prudence from the Mystique series.)

They're gonna ruin Warpath and X-23...

Yost and Kyle created X-23 so I doubt that will happen. 😬
As for Warpath we'll have to wait and see. If any writer can turn the Lupin Avengers into a successful ongoing it'll be them.
I've been pretty happy with the X-writers with the exceptions of Bru, Claremont and Jeff Parker(It's not him it's the concept of First Class).

The only thing I don't like about the X-Universe book line up is the Cable ongoing...not saying it won't appeal to others but personally I don't really care for Cable, the Messiah Baby or Bishop.

Didn't Quesada do NYX, which was X-23's first appearance?

X-23 was created in the X-Men: Evolution TV series by Craig Kyle and Chris Yost and subsequently crossed over into comics, making her first comic appearance in NYX. I don't think Quesada did anything notable enough to consider him very integral to her character development at all.

I know she was created in the cartoon, but I was referring to the comics.

She was pretty different in the comics anyway, she was working as a prostitute. That's not integral to her character development?

NYX was a seven issue series in which very little happened... Target X was a mini of fewer issues that imo added more to her character.

I don't think being a prostitute in itself adds a whole lot to a character though anyway... she also had a brief stint as Captain Universe... yay?

I wasn't exactly jumping out of joy when I found out her first comic appearance would be in NYX. I still think it's something that is pretty big though, but if the writers choose to ignore that part I won't mind at all.

Target X added a lot more to her character, I don't know if she can remember anything about being Captain Universe.

Let's be honest.

What comic characters do we know of (Ignoring Frank miller) that are prostitutes ?
