No, he resisted removal from the building and then arrest; I saw him struggling when they tried to cuff him. THAT is why they tased him, not because they wanted to prevent injury as RJ implies. (Holy shit...I have no idea if I got my punctuation right on that last sentence!)
We have enough idiot threads in here about "if he was black", such and such WOULD have happened. We don't need to bring "what ifs" and skin color into this one.
"Scrawny" is subjective, I guess... He definitely didn't look like a seasoned fighter though, and as pointed out, the cops had more than a mere advantage.
Do you blame him? He has a right to speak, which is Constitutionally protected. Again, tasers are non lethal protection for the officers, there to be used when an officer is in danger and doesn't have to use a deadly weapon to protect him or herself. The cops were not an any danger.
People have brought up, "he moved towards Kerry" and "he was struggling/resisting when he was up"... in that case, why not taser him then and there when he was more of a threat to someone and they didn't know what he could do? Why wait to taser when he on his stomach, surrounded and pinned?
