If he doesn't make the cut, then all I can say is, Sakurai is a disgrace to the Metroid series, and made a twisted mockery out of it. Not just for excluding Ridley, but also for making Samus get rid of her armor, just so her weaker self could become playable for the fanboys to go "hawt!" over.

And if neither Mewtwo or Ridley are playable, I'll probably turn most of my attention to Soul Caliber IV, instead of Brawl.

I'd still get it, but I said I wouldn't pay as much attention to Brawl (after playing through the Subspace Emissary) as I would Soul Caliber IV (if neither Ridley or Mewtwo are playable. Instead of complaining about their exclusion, I'd rather kick ass as Vader or Yoda in Soul Caliber IV instead).
Besides, you yourself said that Brawl is just a beefed up version of Melee with a new item and character here and there. 😬 If that's true, then it won't be that special of a game, with or without Ridley & Mewtwo.
All the delays have pretty much killed my anticipation for the game anyway.

And I basically played Melee for 5 years straight nonstop. Only reason I stopped playing was because the computer became too easy for me. Thanks to online Brawl won't suffer that fate...hopefully. And I lost all interest with SC4 once I figured out Vader was only going to be on the PS3 version.
Tell me what the difference between SC3 and SC4.
