Well, that, and the color. It ain't exactly the kind of purple I'm used to seeing him in, like these versions. 😛
Brawl Ridley has a different shade of purple, which I don't really like compared to the above examples, but I guess that's just personal preference.
Now SSBB's Meta-Ridley on the other hand, is flawless looking, IMO.

On a side note, I can't seem to figure out how to get the Ridley and Meta-Ridley trophies in this game. When that Trophy Stand item shows up (the gold Smash coin thing), do you just throw it at the boss when its health is low? Because when I tried throwing it at Meta-Ridley, he didn't turn into a trophy for me to pick up (like normal enemies would). 😛
The Trophy Stand item shows up rarely too, especially during boss fights. Guess it'll take a lot of patience for me to get the Ridley and Meta trophies in this game. *shrugs*
But at least I got a Space Pirate trophy so far =) (as far as Metroid stuff goes).
Yeah, the only way to nail Ridley/Meta-Ridley's trophy is in battle with him at least below half health. In all likelihood Meta-Ridley's trophy will fall behind the Falcon Flyer, so be sure to jump after it and grab it in midair to end the fight with the trophy intact.

And wow. There seem to be a lot more Metroid trophies than expected 😱, though too bad there's no trophies of Rundas, Omega Ridley, or anything from MP3:C, but since MP3 and Brawl were developed around the same time, I guess it couldn't be helped. 😬
Having Ridley, Meta, and Omega in the SSE would've been tight though. 😈
