I don't believe so, the only Japanese players that I know of thus far at this point are Kuni, Dan, Issei, and Daigo. However Issei lives in the US now, so he "technically" doesn't count, however he is japanese and used to live in Japan, so I guess that counts in a sense, lol.
I'd of thought other players like Nuki would have showed up, but don't know up to this point.
Edit: I was told Nestor entered too, however was knocked out during the 1000 player bracket matches...ouch.

A thousand guys? Wow. Kickass. I knew people still liked/loved fighters. All the genre needed was a hyped sequel to a great franchise that met expectations and online playability. That definitely showed the young guns, and reminded the old school players, just how fun competitive fighters can get. Phenomenal!

That Chun player completely amazed me there, I seriously thought that he was going to knock out Daigo completely, however as Daigo has proven over so many times, he can adapt and somehow pull off the win. However, remember, it came down to almost the wire, which was incredible.
Btw, I don't want to get into the details too much, but the Wong vs Daigo match up was phenomenal! Although Daigo did win it all, if anyone knows Street Fighter, Wong displayed the far superior footsie game over Daigo, while on the other hand, Daigo's was not on the same level. In fact, Wong's Rog won 5 over Daigo's Ryu of 4, however since it's a DE tournament, Daigo got the nod.
Anyhow, good stuff, and I'll be looking forward to SBO when our boys go to Japan to take on Japan's best.
"Footsies" is the term used when describing the method of hitting/poking your opponent with crouching kicks.

Yeah its annoying how people were shitting on J.Wong (at least I saw nothing but hate for him on youtube videos).. he's a really awesome player.. I like to see him , daigo and Choi play.. fun fun fun

Yeah you know what I liked about it? Just how well Valle took it. He wasn't really familiar with the matchup and he even smiled when he lost. True competitor and champ if you ask me.
