Last I checked, he still gets weak when hit with red sun energy. Just happened last month, actually.
Superman defeated Eclipso while he was wearing one of Luthors battlesuites.
They happend to made out of Kryptonit alloy and can emmit red sun radiation. That is two of Supermans weaknesses right there that Norrin can exploit and Superman overcame them.
On a side note had to defeat him while not getting angry cause Eclipso feeds off anger.
Last year I would have said Norrin would win hands down. But it would be closeer than expected.
The difference, by the way, is that Surfer is a MUCH more powerful foe than Eclipso and can generate far more red sun radiation than cheesy some Lexcorp tech. Multiply the battlesuits strength by 10, multiply its energy projection by 100 and increase its durability by 1000 and you'll get half of what the Surfer can do.

kgkg is very misleading. What issue is that from kgkg?
Wasn't misleading. I read the whole thing. Superman was still able to function, but in a diminished capacity. And that's largely because Polaris wasn't keeping it up, because he was too busy beating himself up with his multiple personality disorder.
Multiply Polaris' energy manipulation by 1000 to get Surfer.
Still no contest.

If if was so easy to beat Superman with these methods how come he has never been truly defeated by these methods?
I just said I read it. And I just explained why Polaris didn't win in the end. He was too busy fighting his alternate personality and treated Superman like an aside point.
He's been beaten by these methods before. But he's a good guy, so he always wins. Those rules are suspended here. Besides, they're both good guys.
The point is that Surfer has all the tools at his disposal to exploit every weakness Superman has short of magic, from kryptonite to red sunlight to lack or removal of yellow sunlight. This is a bad matchup for Superman.
