The first part is correct. The second is dubious only because his healing feats aren't that special. Smurph posted a couple great durability things to try to get him banned, but they were of someone else. I'm thrilled that people think Gideon is so powerful, but we're really just interested in his power copying (which, as stated before, has been neutered some to make him ok) and not much else.

I absolutly love that Venom got the 12 votes and he stayed in due to insufficient evidence. It's like pointing out that when you impeach a president its not an auto-boot. It just puts him on trial. and regardless of if he's found guilty or not guilty, its his descretion that allows him to resign or finish serving his term.

Not to mention the fact you can only lose 2-1 or 3-0 in a 3 judge system. It's nearly impossible for a team with more losses to have more judge votes. The only scenario I can see is if a team went 3-3 with three unanimous wins and three 2-1 losses they would be 3-3 (12-6). A team with a 4-2 record could win all 4 matches by a 2-1 margin and lose both matches unanimously (resulting in a 8-10 record). In this scenario the four victories override the more judge votes (similar to a high scoring football team with an 9-7 record being in second place to a low scoring football team with a 10-6 record). The judge votes only help decide the seeding in case of a tie.

Because, 1) we'd then have ALL this argument during the actual tourney.
and 2) Someone may unintentionally draft someone over the caps - and there is no reason to penalize them for that.
The confirmation period takes care of both these issues.

No no, I was mostly agreeing with you that it's a good thing. My team has Gideon anyway, so I'm one of the few that won't have to complain about him (Venom on the other hand... 31). And yes, they'll need to find ways to deal with him ( 😉 ).
