Illadelph's Multi Genre Team Tournament Confirmation Thread

I want a OHTK (one hit team kill). Yeah...gotta get me one of those. Maybe for Christmas.

😐

I, personally, can see the whole the logic behind nothing happening when a spot is closed around a limb.

It wouldn't be the only 'portal' that has done such. Unless there is evidence of spot being able to sever limbs - or, at the VERY least, inorganic objects, I wouldn't give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he can't even close spots around solid matter anymore than someone can close a real door to close around solid matter.

I can't, exactly... because part of the solid object would be through the portal... so, if it's closed, we assume that the matter crosses dimensions to arrive and reconnect back in the 616-verse? ermm

It would seem the most plausible ways are either severing the matter caught in the portal, or not being able to close the portal at all.

Unless Spot's done it before, there is no indication of him being able to close it around solid matter. Gaseous matter, or even liquid, sure - it can very easily be displaced.

Unless there is some evidence of him closing it around solid matter, I wouldn't immediately go as far as to say that he could.

The spots tend to need to shrink closed, if there's soemthing in the way they shouldn't be able to cut through it .... if they can then I've never seen it happen.

Exactly.

And while I acknowledge that it's possible, I'd say that it seems (at least) equally (if not more) probable that they cannot sever a solid object.

And, again, unless there is evidence to the contrary; we should not assume they're capable.

If he can't do it, ok then. No problem with Spot if they don't go to Spotworld. But NC can still teleport heads off. He's done it in AoA.

Which means it doesn't matter.

He's done similarly in 616, but citing AoA means dick.

blah blah -- all the nonsense about ohk with spot or nc is ridiculous. i HOPE someone tries that in a match -- they'll be out one character in a hurry for violating the rules which means the character gets an insta-ban. as always, all the complaining doesn't matter -- the tournament SHOULD police itself.

NO.
FRACKING.
LOOPHOLES.

you should be hoping someone ports your head off, trick. it will almost assure you a win. 😉

(and probably raise your IQ to boot. 😛 )

Hell, as a judge, if anyone tried "Spot spots his arm off" without providing adequate evidence - just on the 'possibility' - it should be ignored anyways. Meaning the character trying to spot everyone's heads off would, effectively, be standing around doing nada.

Again, I want to point out how even if porting someones head off had evidence supporting it (Which it doesn't.) it would STILL be easily avoidable to anyone with enhanced reaction time.

So? A 'one hit kill' is a 'one hit kill' even if it's possessed by the slowest character to appear on panel. It's not the overall potency of the attack, it's the fact that it clearly violates one of the rules.

Just for the record Blink was banned for things she can do, rather than things she would do/has to do.

Nightcrawler has been shown porting limbs off entire sentinels, Nightcrawler has gotten so precise with his teleporting, there is a reason why he's now able to teleport a few people at a time, without passing out, when in the old days, he would have fainted at the thought of it. Kurt lives by a strict moral code, but with the Psyche of the rest of their team, Kurt's malevolence would compare to that of AoA Kurt, the reality in which mystique ultimately raised him.

Nightcrawler has been shown porting limbs off entire sentinels,

And that is a reason to argue his banning under the "one hit kill" rule. Not AoA.

I say AoA, because I'm comparing Kurt with a properly amalgamated mind, is comparable to his AoA counterpart. PLUS, you don't need AoA feats to compare the fact that 616 Kurt has also been shown porting the limbs off machines, and ones the the size of a sentinel at that. You'll just never ever see Kurt porting the limb off a living creature. he is strictly religious. But once more, with any one of their characters, like Deathstroke, Nightcrawler will be just like AoA, and will be more than willing to be that ruthless.

In short, Ban him

I admitted and pointed out that there were 616 examples of Nightcrawler porting matter into pieces. I was just saying that THESE examples are what 'may' get Nightcrawler banned - not AoA examples, considering that those are Earth-295, and thus do not matter.

Further - I dunno if you're asking ME to auto-ban him because he violates one of the clear rules, or if you're directing the posters to vote against him because of it.

If it's the former, I dunno if I'm allowed, even being second in command - thus far, Ill's the only one to autoban a character.

If the latter...well...organize the people, get them to vote him out of here.

i had no idea you were second in command 😛

If 2/3 (12 votes) of the board decides against nightcrawler, then Delph, Soljer and I can discuss a ban but the final rulings rest with Delph.

Being a OHK, this is a clear violation of the rules. Thus, we feel option #1 is called for. You should PM Delph and ask if you're allowed to do that or do you have get him to look at it?

Even if I could, I would first require clear evidence of the violation. I know it's happened, but a few scans showing it would be pleasant, no?
