Iron Man

Yeah saw it yesterday definitely better than most comic films out there. It's probably my fourth favorite and favorite marvel film. As for the after credits

Spoiler:
I'm wondering if Fury will be appearing at the end of the incredible hulk and the other marvel films planning to crossover into avengers. It'd be a nice way to tie it in. Can't wait for Avengers

Just got back. This is a fun movie for people of all ages. Ever since Civil War I had sort of a grudge against Iron Man but this movie has restored my liking of his character. There wasn't that much action scenes but that didn't destroy the film. It had a great origin, and I like the way they switched it from Vietnam to Afghanistan. Modern. I also thought Downey Jr. did a wonderful job. He was perfectly cast seeing how he used to subscribe to some of Stark's traaits(drinking, partying, etc.) Everyone else did a great job. This was probably the funniest superhero movie(thanks to Downey Jr. again) and the crowd(which was soldout) and myself were laughing from start to finish. The action scenes were spectacular especially him in the MarkIII armour in that foriegn county saving those people and against the two jets. When Rhodey said "Next time" does that mean we'll see War Machine in the next installlment? I also stayed after the credits. IT'S/HE's THERE PEOPLE(if you know what I mean). 8.5/10.

P.S. Also saw the NEW "The Dark Knight" trailer. It's going to be freakin aweswome.

Wow. Thanks for that delightful review! I wasn't planning on seeing it this weekend...but you may have just convinced me to with that review.

I give the movie a 7/10. It's fun, really, you should watch it.

I watched it today, good flick. After X-men 1 & 2, the best Marvel film i've seen... X-men was tougher to pull off on the big screen IMO.
Jr. was spot on as Stark, great teaser at the end, funny cameo by Lee, an entertaining adaptation.

Funny you should mention the cameos by Lee. I LOVE those. Such gold. Nice for the comic fans.

STAN LEE FOREVER BABY!!!

X-Men might as well have been done by hobos.

X-Men 2 was awesome, in my opinion. The first was acceptable, but the third was pure, unadulterated shit.

I enjoyed this movie a lot. A good way to kick off the summer movie season in my opinion. Downey Jr. was perfect as Stark, the graphics were top notch, plot met standards, and the action/humor was great. All in all, not glaring mistakes or complaints in my book. Solid film.

I thought they all sucked.

Then again, I don't like any of the X-Men really. None that were in the movies anyway.

I'm biased. I grew up reading X-men.

Me too. I prefer X-men to anything else. X-men 1 was alright. X2 was awesome. X3, couldve been much, much better.

Iron Man was excellently done. I also had a grudge on Tony after Civil War but this movie along with Secret Invasion have make me start liking the character again.

I never got into a pattern of reading any large run or amount of comics, Marvel, DC or otherwise, as a kid, but I can say that Brian Singer created an enjoyably thorough outing with X-Men 2, even if the third act, like the majority of these adaptations was lacklustre. He also deserves kudos for managing to create a relatively rounded first outing for the X-Men; juggling all those characters is a hard task and they almost managed it. Well, they done a David Lean of a job compared to the characterisation in X-Men 3.

Iron Man though, has trumps on characterisation, and although you have to judge each film on its own merits, I would rate it alongside X-Men 2 as the best adaptation. They are solid through and through, and Iron Man can really only get better with a well-structured sequel, if the characterisation is there.

So did I, what's your point? You don't have to like something you grew up with.

To me, putting X-Men, any of their movies, next to Iron Man, is ridiculous. The second one, which was the best of the three in my opinion, was just an action movie with X-Men in it. It wasn't an X-Men movie.

I'm a little confused with your assessment. How exactly was it a movie with X-Men (as the protagonist), yet it wasn't an X-Men movie? You might of not liked the layout, action and whatnot, but "action" is an ingredient in comics.

Though admittedly, Iron Man was better than any of the 3 X-Men, imo.

It was just like a typical action movie and oh, look, there's a man dressed as Wolverine, and Professor X.

It didn't have the feel of an X-Men movie. Like Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, just action movies with "Batman" in. Not Batman movies like Batman Begins. It's a difficult concept to explain, I guess.

Batman and Robin wasn't even an Action movie, really. Just shit.

I think Iron Man is at the top echelon along side X-men 2, Spider-Man 1&2 and Batman Begins.
