Mr. Parker you and I rarely agree but the Joker's new look is not going to cut it for me. I am going to see Ironman on monday i heard it was good I am excited seems we are in a comic book renaissance. The Dark Knight looks incredibly promising and I am excited but the Joker looks NASTY. Just dirty. And I never considered the Joker to be a dirty filthy character. He has always been portrayed as rather chic to me despite his insanity. So that will be something to get over I guess. But I just hope they don't eff up two face.
But we will be in the minority. That other Batfanboys and girlies are salivating.

You can count me in as well, i dont think of the joker that way and i will go in with an opened mind.... but...i was not happy with batman begins...i know here...thats a minority view,but the look of the new joker just screams....i want to make this movie in my image,not the fans...which is ok i guess.....with all that annoys me about Batman begins, i still go in with an open mind.....we cant let these things get to us, for all we know there is a good reason the joker looks the way he does......no i dont like it...but i will wait until i watch the movie to get so upset about it

Yeah the LOOK of the joker for the dark knight,I think is the ONLY thing we have EVER agreed on here in the Batman section. 😄 LOL. Everything you said about the look of joker on here is dead on and I was thinking about your posts from the past on this thread when I was watching that trailer when you were saying on here like you have a few times,that he needs a bath.Sadly,you hit the nail right on the head about that cause its so true.Damn he looks like a dirty filthy slob. 😠 you'll see for yourself that he looks even worse on the screen than he does in the photos we have seen of him.I liked what you said from earlier and I for sure plan to follow in your footsteps on this one,that when they call him Joker,just pretend like they called him Clownman instead.But yeah,me and you seem to be in the small minoryt here on the look of the joker which astonishes me.
Like Starlock said,this movie seems to be getting made By Nolan with his thoughts being-"I am making this movie for myself and not for the fans." which is the only reason I loved Batman Begins so much is because for the FIRST time ever,I felt that a Batman movie was FINALLY being made for the fans instead of just for the director.well those days seem to be over with with this NEW look of the joker I just will NEVER like.Like I said,that seems to be the only real negative about this movie and your right,it seems like were really in a comicbook renaisssance right now.
on a sidenote-I thought IRONMAN was the first REALLY great marvel comicbook movie that hollywood has made.one thats on the same level with the first two superman movies from the 70's and Batman Begins.what did YOU think of Ironman?

I'm just curious, are you a fan of the comics by any chance? Because I'm not and I like the look of the joker both ways, but probably more in this movie.

Yeah, it was pretty awesome. It still wasn't my favorite movie ever, but it beat tim Burton's by a long shot.
I promised someone here I wouldnt bash the burton films anymore since I have made it no secret here before, that I hate all the other Batman movies other than Begins.LOL.so that being the case,not to get off topic or anything,but I thought IRONMAN was easily by far the best marvel comicbook movie ever made by leaps and bounds.That its right up there with superman the movie,superman II and Batman Begins as a great film that rivals the greatness of those films.I just recently learned that it was the first film that was financed by marvel instead of by movie studios.That it explains why that movie is really the first great MARVEL comicbook movie made.they had people in marvel that understood the characters where the other marvel films,the people in the studios were only making those films only for themselves instead of for the fans.Too Bad they didnt start financing them from the beginning in 2000.There probably would have been a lot more great marvel comicbook films made to date if they HAD been. 😠 including my favorite comicbook character-spiderman.Bats is a close second thats why I am grateful to Nolan for making Batman Begins.

lol, I forgot about the Schumacher (spelling?) films too. To think Burton's were bad... dear god. I'm not sure why but I actually own Batman and Robin and its a GOD AWFUL movie. Jesus.
Good thing I never read any of those comic books then. I like the first Spiderman movie, while the second and third were just okay. And for their budget you would think they could improve the CGI a bit. Apparently not.
And just to prove how good Iron man is... I never read the comics either and still think its the best Marvel movie out there
For me,MAN-SPIDER 2-just look at my sig.LOL, is the only one I can sit through without going crazy and getting majorly pissed off.As a spider-man movie, its horrible just like the other two,but as a movie on its OWN merits,its fairly good I think.The first one and the last one I seriously thought looked like they were written by a 5 year old.The second one I kinda like just because the special effects were so amazing.they were an amazing improvement over the first one which I thought they were really cheesy.Batman Begins gives me hope in the future that they will redeem spidey as well like they FINALLY did for Bats.You gotta remember,Bats had a huge head start on spidey.The first Batman movie got made in 89 where spidey didnt get his due till 2001 and after what they did to him,I wish their STILL hadnt been a spidey movie made yet obviously.But like I said,since IronMan was the first marvel comicbook movie financed by marvel,maybe they have finally learned from their mistakes now and they will get a good director for spidey in the future and reboot that franchise the same way they did Bats.Im confident they will.After all,they made a new Superman movie-Superman Returns which unlike with Batman,was totally unnessary since supes ALREADY had two good Superman movies to boast about.
we actually should be grateful for Batman and Robin because it was so bad that even the moviegoers stayed away from it.If it had kept making similiar returns at the box office like Forever and Returns did,then we would have just gotten stuck with one sequal after another but fortunately since it bombed BOTH at the box office and with critics,they got smart and stopped making sequals and rebooted the franchise thank god.
oh and yeah,for the record,I never read the Ironman comics either. 🙂 But from what I have heard from others who HAVE,its very loyal to the comicbook.
I think the problem with a lot of comic book movies in the past is that people made them for the general public and not for the "fans" per se. They tried to make the heroes just more accessible so that the studios could make money because at the end of the day that is what is important is if the film is going to turn a profit or not. Not to get OT or anything. I actually love Spiderman 1 even though I did not think Toby M looked anything like I thought Peter Parker would and I hate Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane. 2 and 3...well they just really made Spiderman a pussy IMO.
But as I have always said I am excited for the Dark Knight. And the Joker better be darkly funny. Like the thing about the Joker is I should want him to succeed almost as much as I want Batman to beat him. Batman and Joker represent order and mayhem to me and though we want the good guy to win there is a part of us that wants to see stuff get destroyed too. That is why I love the Joker because I can root for him in some sick twisted way. If they can't accomplish that then to me this person is not the Joker
