Yeah, as someone pointed out earlier, a hero who makes deals with the devil vs one who divorces/lives with the consequences of his actions (the heroic thing to do) and gets on with his life and beautiful wife vowing to make better.
Charles Xavier has been crippled and cured 4 times I believe, one time via receiving an entirely new body.
Forge and Reed can build machines that travel through time and space, but they can't fix an old lady? Dr Strange... can't fix an old lady?

Mephisto normally makes deals for souls - which he'll have forever, this time he's making a deal for something that will only last another 60-70 years tops.
Also has Mephisto ever really shown the magnitude of power required to make such wide affecting changes?

The problem is when you show an experienced hero doing a crappy choice when he is supposed to know better. I could see Beast going to Mephisto to save mutant kind, but to save a single person by trading your soul. Thats not a hero, a hero lives with his failures and accepts that everyone fails, just like this story fails.

Didn't Mephisto make this deal because without Mary Jane's love Peter will eventually be broken or lose his way and Mephisto will gain his soul then? 😕

Wow just come to think about it. Even more so than his unmasking his relationship with Tony I'd say had allot to do with how Tony handled and reacted to allot of the aspects of Civil War and the events leading into it with their apprentice relationship.
There's just so many things involving so many other things that this is beyond understanding. Anyone that even remotely condoned this at Marvel just really really didn't think this out.
For example what about those Iron Spider soldiers now? Since Peter never evolved and gained his enhanced abilities then and never lived at the Avengers tower I'm guessing him and Tony never got so close and Tony never built that armor for him let alone scanned his full potential or anything.
And I'm guessing the Clone Saga and anything Ben Reilly & Kaine or Gwen's clone effected never happened. This is just completely ignorant.
Peter is the center piece to the entire Marvel universe. Screwing with him is about the easiest way to completely screw up all of continuity. So what they're just gonna act like this doesn't effect any of the other books at all for some idiotic reason? Because you know they won't reset the entire universe and every heroes book that goes with it to fit this.
Would be ironic thou if this somehow rewrote history so that Capt wasn't killed. lol Who'd have seen that one coming. Capt didn't die because Peter didn't get married!

Here's a better reason for why people chose not to save Aunt May. It's bias.
It's basically saying, oh well normally if some old person were on their deathbed we would let nature take its course but because this old person is a family member of spider-man than we must save her.
Good god, just let the old bag die already. She was never essential to Peter's character anyway. She never taught him how to be hero (Uncle Ben), Wasn't the love of his life (Gwen Stacey) and hell some more important figures have died in peter's life anyway (Captain Stacey(father figure), Harry Osborn (best freind)).
I understand she's a family member, and its always hard to lose someone you love, but for christ sake, Peter needs to accept the fact she's old! and Marvel needs to accept the fact that Peter Parker can exist without his Old Aunt for him to live with.

lol I've been saying this for ages, you can't change 30 years of continuity with one character without affecting everyone else.
