Read some of the interview, annoyance stopped me from finishing it.
So basically every item of character development in the last 5 years of Spider-Man comics has been erased so that one guy can get back the stories he liked when he was younger.
Harry, Flash, Aunt May, single Peter, mechanical web shooters ..... FFS, if the guy wants 60s Spider-Man stories he should just go read his back issues.
I can't believe how irritated I am about a comic book character .... I'm actually considering just dropping the whole title/character from my reading list now.
The problem here is Quesada is being selfish he is going backwards with the character's development and stunting pete's growth just to suit his own needs. Last i check comic book writers didn't make the comics for themselves they make them for the fans.
I hear DC has announced the day OMD #4 came out as Joe Quesada day

That *******... 🤨 🤨 🤨
I'm going to with hold my judgement until we see what the stories will be like after this. But it's annoying after the work JMS did getting Pete and MJ back together in a great string of stories, and this is splitting them up. All I ask is this dosn't put Peter into a pit of depression and make him dark and evil Spider-man again, that gets old quick.
Though is this being used to ret-con Peter revealing his identity to the public?
I'm pretty sure it's supposed to retcon the identity thing too(?)
I don't follow Spider-Man religiously so I'm not feeling the impact so much as others... but still the entire idea seems pretty stupid to me. Does Quesada want him to date Kitty Pryde in 616 too? 'Cause she's not 14 anymore and I don't think "manchild that lives with his Aunt" is all that appealing to a girl. What's the point of developing a character only to retcon all of it?
And out of marriages they could have annulled it's this one? Oh and either Luke Cage or Jessica Jones may be a Skrull - so maybe that one too. Meanwhile we're all for certain other sales-driven weddings.
(Additionally it really makes no sense to have to make a deal with Mephisto to save someone's life.)
I hope it doesn't ret con pete's exposed identity, one ret con is enough thanks. I mean they haven't even given that a chance to develop yet. All I can say is he better end up with the Black Cat after all of this. Not some annoying new lady in his life...and if they ret con uncle Bens and Gwens death I think I will scream!

Hopefully, sales plummet like a rock, heads roll at marvel, and this whole thing gets undone.
Nah, it's a long-term thing that will likely bring more readers to Marvel, not less. It's only the diehards that have followed the character for years that get upset, but the newer fans get a fresh start with a superhero who they haven't followed for years.
I'm not super-happy with the changes either, but I can understand them from an editorial perspective. Each generation should be able to enjoy a character without decades of stuff to sift through before they understand him. Marvel's average reader is probably about 15, so a single Peter Parker is much more applicable to them than a married Pete with so many burdens on him that he can barely exist.
...
Also, it's probably a lot of the same fans who complained about Pete's unmasking that are now upset that they retconned it.
Yeah but I don't see why even if it had to be done it had to be done in such an illogical way that confuses and complicates so much other stuff. If it does retcon the identity thing completely does that mean completely, like including everyone he's ever told privately? And then are they saying that even though Spider-Man didn't unmask - even though it was such a big deal during Civil War event, it still had no impact on Civil War outcomes that he didn't unmask? And that's just one example.
It's also been brought up pretty validly that there are several titles that do deal with a single Peter.

I thought it was a purely mental retcon . . .
On a side note... it's pretty hypocritical of Quesada to criticize DC's Crises when he'll just as easily House of M Grant Morrison's New X-Men and Mephisto 20 years of marriage.
