STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Cold War

Dak laughs. "We will easily break their lines." Are there any alternative routes?

The Royal soldiers have focused all of their resources on guarding the mines and fighting your men as they enter the city. It may be possible to flank them, but it would be a solo mission. Only Dak is so sneakily inclined, here.

Yeah, let's do the sneaky solo mission.

Wraith casts a look backward along the train, trying to sense if any movement is coming toward him and his men.

"Alright," Wraith says. "Watch our flanks. I'll make sure we don't walk into anything."

He radios Ker'Raos.

"Make sure nothing sneaks up on us," Wraith says. "I'm viewing a transmission onboard the train ordering a flank."

Wraith decides that his lightsaber will probably be a better leading weapon and keeps the handle out, but unlit.

For General Kaliero's solo mission, it is not solely about inflicting casualties upon the Royals. It is about creating enough of a problem to become a serious threat by yourself that the Royals break from their defensive lines to send men your way. With this distraction, your men will be able to push them back to the mines, where Reynal join in. After that, they will fall back to the train station...

You have decided to sneak through Royal lines to hit a target- a set of artillery pieces projecting explosives into your men. Take them out and the Royals will lose their artillery support and more than likely try to apprehend you for their destruction.

First, you must make an Intrusion roll. Anything specific you want to try for getting past?

-

Wraith- your senses are not so precise. If they are coming, Ker'Raos will need to spot them and let you know.

The men seem nervous either way. They are to be ambushed or flanked, and you sense their dislike for you keenly.

"What are your orders?" one asks.

"We move on," Wraith says. "I sense you're all anxious to be moving and don't want that flank to happen. It probably will, but you have me here. I can do wonders that you can hardly dream of. Let me do my work and you back me up, or we all will get it for failure. If not by the hand of the enemy, then by your own hand, if I have anything to say about it."

Wraith will press on, keeping his senses open and his body ready to act.

Guards, cameras, heat sensors...

That seems to sort out your men. They are eager to get moving. As you move along, you see signs of stations being abandoned at the orders of the cloaked figure in the message. Hot drinks being brewed abandoned, food wrappers, books and hologram projectors.

Closer to the front of the train, while passing through a barracks car, you hear the quiet thump of Ker'Raos' kinetic rifle somewhere above and behind you.

-

I am more concerned with route- being in the middle of a warzone, cameras and heat sensors are less of a concern.

How's the weather?

Windy, gentle snowfall.

Is there any cover in the barracks car?

Any walls to hug, while watching for patrols?

Plenty of cover, Wraith, but it is a very narrow shooting lane. You can't shoot from within the car at a target outside of it efficiently from in here.

-

Plenty! Tons of buildings in Meja'Tsid.

Intrusion + Agility to sneak past soldier patrols, Dak.

Have the soldiers cause a distraction while Dak sneaks along buildings.

What kind of distraction are we looking for here?

Something loud that will attract attention, but won't put the lives of too many of our own soldiers at risk.

Not a good place to stand and fight. What kind of car is ahead of us?

"Ker, what's going on?" Wraith asks.

The officer says he can attempt to push the line farther away from where you intend to sneak in.

-

"Soldiers moving up," Ker'Raos reports. "Coming in on the flank, like you said. I'm no good until they're good and close. You're going to want to defend our men."

Good man, that nameless officer...

Car in front of us, Rex? And car behind, too, if you could...
