STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Cold War

Started by General Kaliero45 pages

Just to confirm, no way to decimate both pieces of artillery in one turn?

Asked the Ushmeister... and there is! You would have to spend a point on Twirl, however.

Twirl on the final two artillery units, then.

And swap in FGu and tap it.

Alrighty, dice are rolled, just need to hear from Wraith...

Wraith will sacrifice initiative this turn, so that they can go out AFTER the soldiers' turn passes.

Wraith nods to Ker'Raos. "Let's move."

He runs out to meet the flankers and attacks with his lightsaber, intending to drive back the flank or destroy everyone in it.

Initiative tie... third time this fight, meaning it goes to you.

Dak Twirls his way to victory! In a wild display of violence, he rolls five successes... perfect! He rushes to and past the fourth artillery piece- leaving it in shreds- and then destroys the fifth. Then he takes out two guards!

And... his mission is done. If he stays he will be killed by the soldiers pouring in his direction. Shortly after making short work of those already there, Dak makes his way out of the fighting and back to his lines.

That officer that reported to you before is still alive when you get back.

"General!" he shouts over the roar of blasterfire. "Our push was successful! Whatever you did, they redistributed troopers to deal with it."

Dak can rest again.

Wraith bides his time, letting the soldiers make their move... and they do nothing. Then you leap into action! Wraith gets two kills and Ker'Raos gets one. As you waited to strike, they don't shoot back.

This is occurring just before Dak leaves on his mission to sneak, now.

"Good, good!" Dak responds, feeling that victory is within his grasp. "Press on, this day shall soon be won."

Dak will then rest.

Wraith keeps up his attack against the flankers, hoping that their initial tactical wisdom has given them an edge.

Can he sense more coming?

You can sense more, yes.

Again, between Wraith and Ker'Raos, three are chopped down. They return fire and inflict some damage. No progress has been made to the front of the train as the blockade is maintained...

Dak- you receive some mild medical attention and heal 10 damage.

Pade has moved forward, informing you that the pincer movement toward your flank has been thwarted for good. The Royals are pulling back to strengthen their defensive lines, which the recent onslaught weakened. In the course of being weakened, they also had to move their defensive lines back. You have more than half of the town under your control, including the mines.

Reynal was unable to get an efficient flank on your enemies, but he did provide distraction.

"Are we going with a straightforward attack on the struggling foes?" Reynal asks, a hefty gun thrown over his shoulder.

"I say we go for another flank," Pade says, "return the favor and try to pincer them this time."

"Scanners indicate that they're falling back to the train staiton," the officer reports to you.

Hmm. How much more of the train does Wraith have until they reach the front? This isn't working for Wraith, he wants speed.

You dropped in toward the middle of the train. You have about a third of the train left to go before you reach the engine.

Dak nods. "We will flank them. Crush them between our lines like a tail in a trap."

Soon... we have almost won.

Reynal folds his muscular arms across his chest.

"We saw how well THAT worked," he scoffs. "How do you suppose we do it this time? They hold the other half of the Meja."

Wraith wants to try his hand at breaking away from the fighting in order to sneak up to the front car and bomb it. He doesn't think he can take the train over at this point. He'll see what Ker'Raos thinks.

What skills are required to do all that? Sneak off from the fight and set the bombs?

Intrusion + Agility to sneak away from the fighting, though you need a route to sneak by. Going through the trains will not work. And then Sabotage + Intelligence for the bombs. Ker has volunteered to do it.

Going over the trains should work, though, right? And good, Wraith doesn't have Sabotage. Intrusion, though, he does have. Agility 4, Intrusion 2, and to top it off, Presence. Puts me at a pool of 9.

"We're going up top," Wraith says to Ker. "Let the men make their stand. We've got to stop this train, and they're only slowing us down anyway. You probably feel that more than I do, my leap-frogging friend. Now, let's go!"

Wraith will tap Cleave so that he has protection as he leaves the fight with the soldiers, and jumps atop the barracks car. He then makes his way away from the fighting, leaving the soldiers they brought to their doom.

Ker'Raos is very much his masters' student. He does not question your decision and breaks off his assault immediately. And in fact, he is a better sneak that you have ever been; his naturally high Agility and practicing under you and Dak has made him quite the intrusive Dark Sider.

You make your way onto the barracks car and out of sight. Wraith rolls three successes, and Ker four. You are away.

If you so choose, you may hide yourself and take rest. Otherwise, the engine is ahead of you.

Dak, Reynald wants to question your decision to flank. He thinks that, with the losses they have sustained and with all your forces gathered, you can tear them down with a direct assault.
