Sorry, Wraith. There is a larger barracks car ahead of you- wider and taller than the one you are in- or an open gunnery car behind you.

It is not long after the chat with Second Lieutenant Nameless that he initiates the distraction for you. Farther down the lines, some of your militiamen charge from cover and begin taking the fight to the Royals. It is a brief distraction- not many men are devoted to it, and they are killed quickly once they leave cover- but it works.

Dak passes his Intrusion + Agility check, and you move into position to strike.

As a note- Wraith's events are happening during Dak's rest period. Dak's sneak attack will be happening after Wraith's about-to-begin fight.

Wraith will order his men to press on into the bigger barracks car, which probably isn't just barracks if it is a larger car. Maybe an armory as well.

Wraith will lead and get his men into cover before they are attacked from the flank.

Dak- you have crept up on your target after skillfully evading distracted patrols.

The artillery pieces have been gathered in a clear area of street where they can fire over buildings safely. Each artillery piece has a one-man crew that operates it, and the pieces themselves resemble mortar launchers with an ammunition belt-feed. When they launch, the proton grenades light up the area and sail overhead.

You have five turns to destroy as many mortar launchers as you can. Each requires five successes to destroy the whole set-up- the gunner included. Keep in mind that the guns are not undefended and that reinforcements will arrive.

In the mean time, Wraith has led his men directly into an ambush. The larger barracks car is host to many more men than the previous barracks. The only good news there is that your men are more mobile in here, as are you.

Additionally, the flank has met up with you!

Wraith enters the barracks car and realizes his mistake.

"Uh oh," he utters, before igniting his lightsaber and rushing forward to attack the soldiers in the larger car. He leaves the militiamen to attack for themselves.

He'll have Reflection and Focused Guard in and tapped, with Cleave to help attack multiple soldiers.

Dak will Charge in, slashing in a blur at the closest artillery unit.

Dak races in before any realizes what is happening. With exactly five successes, Dak whisks his lightsabers through the first artillery piece and the lizard operating it. There is no explosion, just clanking and squishing as things collapse.

Having been ambushed by the demonic Rebel General, the soldiers do not fire back!

Without missing a beat, Dak launches himself into the next artillery unit, driving his sabers deep into the defenseless metal machinery.

Due to having launched their ambushed, the soldiers get initiative. Wraith is prepared and falls into a defensive maneuver, reflecting incoming fire. He reflects three of his attackers straight away. Having failed to nominate someone for his Guard, the next mook misses. He takes two hits, and the Arnian militiamen with him are blasted apart. The Officer shoots at Wraith but misses, thanks to his tap.

Wraith's attack falls just short of achieving a Cleave kill, so he comes away with one. Reinforcements arrive.

At the rear, though you cannot see it, Ker'Raos has not been so caught unawares and plows into the soldiers with a four-kill Carnival tap. The Officer plays it smart and moves his remaining men inside, where they can start attacking the militiamen and are less exposed to the frog.

Swap Ortho for Focussed.

Wraith will attack the Officer, considering him to be pesky and not worth dealing with for longer than a sword stroke.

With surprise no longer on his side, Dak comes under fire. His mobile style of fighting helps him out some but he takes four damage.

Dak doesn't quite get his kill this time around. He damages the gun but he must have been distracted by the blasters.

Reinforcements arrive. It is working!

Bad luck on Wraith's part as he takes some hits, and his militiamen are once again wiped out. Not a very efficient way to use them. But five successes is enough to chop the Officer down! You do not get any reinforcements, however, because Ker'Raos has called them to deal with the flank... uh oh.

While doing this, Ker'Raos storms into the barracks car and performs overkill on the Officer, tapping CG to up his dice pool and EE to double his successes. Sixteen damage and the Officer goes spinning into a wall with a broken body.

Reinforcements arrive at the flank.

Dak growls in annoyance as he dodges and blocks blaster bolts, spinning to finish off the damaged unit.

Wraith will withdraw from the larger barracks car, thinking that this is a losing battle.

"Men, spread out!" Wraith says when he reaches the smaller barracks car. "Take cover! We'll defend you. Open fire on any soldiers that enter!"

Wraith will use Coordination as he withdraws. Swap RF out for CC.

Initiative to Dak and Wraith.

Easy done, Dak. You slice the artillery piece that frustrated you into ribbons, and its gunner with it.

Dak takes more hits.

Wraith withdraws! The soldiers do not follow; killing their Officer has fouled up their coordination. The militiamen then obey your command- all ten of them that are left- and pull back into cover. However, for them to fire out of the barracks car, they need a clear path... something that neither Wraith nor Ker'Raos are affording them.

"What are we doing, Wraith?" Ker'Raos asks, timidly. He switches his kinetic rifle to his back and ignites his lightsaber swiftly.

Dak cuts into the third artillery unit, knowing he is now pressed for time.

Wraith assesses the situation.

"Maybe we should think about destroying the train," Wraith says. "It'd be nice to have it, but this is getting problematic."

Looking outside, Wraith twirls his lightsaber idly.

"Let them come to us. We'll backpedal and kill the flankers. Once those in the bigger barracks car come, we chop them down."

Wraith will move back to where Ker is.

Initiative stays with Dak and Wraith for a bit longer.

Dak makes a mess of a third emplacement with seven successes! He then is met with seven points of damage as the soldiers keep firing, and now they are joined with reinforcements...
