STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Cold War

Healing up sounds like a good idea. Wraith doesn't have any medical supplies, does he?

You do not. You will only remove your Medicine rating from your damage. You can opt to rest longer, of course, but the clock is ticking.

-

Reynal still wants to argue against the flanking maneuver, Dak, and now Pade is also suggesting that you rest more.

How are Dak and Wraith synced up right now, time-wise? I think he's resting during Wraith's last fight?

Wraith is actually two sequences behind Dak. In the time that Wraith is now resting, Dak was resting up before his assault on the artillery.

Can Wraith use an extra sequence to rest and heal? Then he'll get moving again.

Certainly. Again, just your Medicine rating is removed from your damage. Once you are done patching up, you are a sequence behind Dak. Time to catch up! Give me a plan.

Wraith wants to sneak all the way to the front of the train and blow it up.

Ker'Raos actually pipes up just before you leave.

"Are you sure you want to blow it up?" Ker'Raos asks. "This thing has a lot of firepower. It'd be better if we rolled into Meja'Tsid with its cannons blazing... right?"

Wraith evaluates the situation. Having had more time to rest, and seeing Meja'Tsid in the near distance, Wraith reconsiders.

"If we can take it ourselves, then all the more better," Wraith says. "But if things start to go against us, we destroy the engine. The train can't go anywhere without it, and that leaves it immobile and helpless. Deal? Keep the explosives ready, and please don't get shot while holding them."

"I don't intend to," Ker'Raos says.

"Right," Wraith says. "Let's get going. Blasters out."

Wraith will get his blaster pistol ready for engagement, planning on killing everyone in the engine.

You pass your Intrusion rolls. Moving along the top of the fast-moving train is difficult but nobody observes you doing so. It is a slow process.

Eventually, you reach the lead car of the train- the engine. Like the rest of the train (and many things on Arnia), it is very slim and metallic, thrumming loudly as its repulsor-engines keep the train moving across the tundra and frozen tracks below. The spacious cabin is atop the train.

Upon getting atop the engine's roof, Wraith stops Ker'Raos. He holsters his pistol and reaches for his lightsaber.

"I'm going to cut us a way in," Wraith says. "I'll carve a circle in the roof beneath us and we'll drop, but I want you to have your rifle ready. Kill anyone that you see and I'll do the same. No prisoners; everyone dies. Got that?"

When Ker'Raos agrees, Wraith ignites his lightsaber and plunges it into the roof of the cabin, cutting a circle out of it so that they fall in once the carving is complete.

Your lightsaber makes short work of the roof, and you drop into the engine's cabin. The crash of your patch of roof smashing into the floor startles all within, but within moments, you have ten soldiers bringing their arms to bear around you...

Focused Guard, Reflection, and Cleave in! Wraith taps the first two schticks to provide him with a stellar defense and reflect back the shots of his attackers, then lunges for two soldiers with his lightsaber. He impressively reflects a shot back between slashes, and makes sure his opponents are down in mere moments.

Hopefully Ker'Raos performs just as impressively.

Let's see how that went...

Wraith falls just short of getting the two kills he wanted with Cleave, since Focused Guard excludes 4s as successes. That leaves him with four shooters. Ker'Raos, on the other hand, taps Carnival of Carnage and Close Quarters Gunman as he lunges into pointblank range. Four kills! One shooter against him.

The soldiers shoot back... and Wraith gets his three Reflection kills, and no hits against him. Ker'Raos takes a hit from his lone soldier.

A moment later, Wraith has cut down his last man, and Ker'Raos has shot down his.

Wraith keeps his lightsaber activated and makes a quick check around the cabin of the train engine to make sure that there are no further threats involved in their taking of the train engine.

"Ker, lock the doors," Wraith says. "We don't want any unwelcome company while we are commandeering this thing..."

Ker would do that, but there a strange noise of warbling energy and a bright blue beam that streaks across the cabin from the very front. It collides with Ker'Raos' leg, and there is a crisp sound as the beam solidifies into a thick layer of ice.

The beam came from the wide barrel of a blaster weapon being held b a cloaked figure near the train's controls.

Is it the cloaked figure from the hologram?

Whether or not it is, Wraith is going to jump over to that side of the cabin with his lightsaber raised, intending to hack the figure in two.

Yes, actually.

Wraith charges up to the front of the cabin and raises his lightsaber to chop down this foolish attacker... and is very surprised when his target blurs to one side. His lightsaber sinks into a control panel instead of flesh, since his Lightsaber pool was halved to six dice and he rolled no 6s to hit.

You are even less happy when the woman throws back her robe and activates a lightsaber with a white blade.
