And in episode 1. Those battle droids. Obi 1 blocked off shots from bizarre angles many times. They did not plan those shots either!

Yes, Obi Wan was aware that the droids had one specific thing in mind: KILL THE JEDI. by knowing this, he was able to concentrate on them and deflect their fire BECAUSE he knew that they were trying to kill him. By knowing this, he had no need to be aware of their consciousness, or lack thereof.
Mace never imagined that Annie would lock blades with him.
Remember his words "If what you have told me is true, you will have gained my trust?" Mace TRUSTED Annie. despite his fears at having Annie trained, despite Annies rebellious nature, Mace TRUSTED him.

If you cannot show me the exact spot, I am considering your statement a piece of fanfic. And that belongs in expanded universe.
