STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- The Hunted

And Kyle rather pointedly ignores the man's friends, not needing to even take notice of them with Eerin at his shoulder. He leans back against the bar and slides over enough coin for a few drinks. "Barkeep, set this fellow up." He waits silently until the man is served and takes a sip. He gestures at the man's head, "Anything shake loose yet?"

"Perhaps," the patron says. "There's a parts dealer not far from here, an old Kalzerian named Zibwan. Odd fellow. I don't know how he gets his parts. Especially the hyperdrives. They say he deals with the Jawas, but who knows. Shady character, but his prices are low. Might find what you're looking for in that junky shop of his. Anyways, thanks for the drink."

He returns to his drink, but the others don't. Even Eerin's intimidating presence does not seem to deterr them.

"Psst," your patron friend whispers. "You, eh, don't happen to have a price on your head, do you?"

"I suppose I do somewhere, yeah. You can't please everyone." Kyle looks back at the others.
"Friend, you might want to take your drinks somplace safer, unless you are going to try to cash in as well."
Not taking his eyes off the eyes staring at him, he moves sideway to stand beside Eerin, clear of him and the bar. He casually thumbs off the small leather strap holding his blaster in its holster.
"You fellows look like you have something to say. But I'm only gonna say this once, if Eerin here doesn't like the words, they'll be your last." He looks at them waiting.

The patron nods and, trying to act casual, tips the bartender and takes his leave of the bar.

"You Kyle Ragnor?" asks one of the barflies, a burly man with a rather large blaster rifle strapped to his back.

"I might be. Who's asking?" Kyle responds, not relaxing a bit.

Say no more, say no more, these gang of thugs seem rather intent in taking you in or taking you out as they raise a variety of blaster weapons in your direction rather threateningly. They don't fire just yet, possibly to give you a chance at surrender...

Seeing the group start to raise blasters, Kyle whips his own out lightning-quick. (I can draw at 0 frame cost. Hoping that I beat them to the draw, at least to give them pause to think about just who they're facing here.)
Between his blinding draw and the point in time when the firing might actually begin, Kyle loudly announces, "That's ONE!"
(Whoa! Talk about escalation. Ok, let's have the numbers here. How many blasters are we looking at? And are their holders quality looking folk or are we talking a bunch of mook-types? i.e. - I'd like to know judge our chances before we start tearing this fine establishment up.)

This rabble seems to be made up of your average goons, seeking the fast route to large amounts of cash by doing something possibly suicidal. But there are about ten of them.

Having drawn your pistol, they intend to fire, but you've got the practiced hand of a Gunslinger and it's your call what happens first...

"Bad move!" Kyle shouts, and drills the closest goon in the face with a hot blaster bolt.
(Doubleshot one the first. Hopefully a dramatic overkill. Kyle is hoping for some intimidation effect in his skill so he doesn't have to get them all, but... Dodge as well)

Eerin, without the speed or finesse of Kyle, pulls out his sonic blaster and squeezes off an energized ball of heart-bursting sound, sending it whirling down the bar towards one of Kyle's attackers.

Here's how it goes down...

The goons spend precious time drawing their blaster weapons, putting them at frame 5. Kyle dramatically quick-draws his pistol, starting him off at frame 4. Eerin lugs his sonic blaster out, setting him even with Kyle on frame 4.

Before the thugs even have a chance, Kyle raises his pistol and double-shots at nearly point-blank range. With Gunslinger, you Gun skill is 16, reduced to 14 by the -2 penalty of the double-shot... but that's nothing for you. As if the 14 you roll isn't enough, you follow up with a 15. The bolts more or less obliterate his face and he drops to the floor.

Eerin is not nearly as impressive a shooter, with a Gun skill of 12 and no Gun tricks, but that hardly stops him from downing a mook of his own. Having rolled a 12, the sonic blast sweeps down the bar and sends the mook flying backwards when it bursts.

"No blasters!" the bartender shouts, ducking for cover.

Despite your impressive display, these people are still going to try and fight you, Kyle! You don't think they got the message. But with four blasters apiece, let's here what the defensive plan is...

"Dive!" Kyle yells at Eerin upon seeing the rest of the group is no smarter than the first. Putting action to words, he takes a step, flops onto the bar and rolls of to the other side. As soon as he gets his bearings back, he'll pop up with...
(Can you spread a doubleshot out between two mooks? If so, Kyle will pick the first two he sees upon raising up. If no, just one single shot at the nearest.)

Eerin will dodge a single attack from the flunkies.

I will assume that Kyle is also dodging one attack.

The fledgling hunters rattle off shots at the bar, several of the bolts bursting on the bar itself due to their inaccurate shootings. Kyle dodges one of the attacks, an 18, meaning he is scratched by broken glass when his drink is blasted. 3 damage. The others miss.

Eerin tries dodging, but has to rely on his natural armor when he takes three hits! The 19 is minimizied by the dodge, but combined with an 18 and 17 that hit in full, the reduced damage is 10.

The hunters are going to fire again...

Eerin will dodge one attack, as before, while thanking the caste system of his race for blessing him with good wits and a thick shell.

Once Eerin has the opportunity to strike, he will put away the sonic blaster and pull out all the stops with his halberd.

From behind the bar, using it for cover, Kyle blasts away at two of the goons.
(Snap at two)

I, er, think getting to cover requires movement... and we're getting shot at again. 😛

(Well, I already ducked behind the bar as my dodge for the last round of shots. Now I'm behind it, I'm just saying I'm shooting for cover. Cover in writing style, not game terms. I'm just using that as a dodge.)

(Gotcha. Just looking out for the Captain. 😉 )

Kyle keeps his head down and his wits about him, attempting to dodge one of the goons. Bolts burst on the bar very near, two of the goons striking with a 20 (dodged for minimal damage) and a 17. 8 damage.

Eerin, despite being a large target, manages to keep clear this time.

Going for the quick shot, Kyle blasts down another thug on a 7, blasting him the chest without really even aiming. He spins to the ground with a shout of surprise.

Eerin puts away the sonic blaster in favor of his halberd...

Kyle has one less to worry about and Eerin is about to go bonkers on the assailants. The thugs are a frame distant, but they get to fire again before any deadly rampages can happen...
