STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- The Hunter

Started by Captain REX44 pages

That's a Lying check. Retter, a representative of the Hutts, is not a gullible man, but considering that your statement contains some sort of twisted truth, you pass.

"Ah, alright," Retter replies. "Too true, they're bumbling idiots anyhow. Happy hunting, huntress."

Yay for half truths!

Rylis will leave the bar, but she wants to keep Kyle some distance ahead of her for a while.

Snith is being not so subtle about it. You can see him reaching towards his belt for a repeating pistol (a model used during the Clone Wars, modified military firearm) as he snakes through the crowd.

Kyle has obviously noticed and quickens his pace, talking into a comlink as he heads out the door ahead of Snith. Snith intends to follow, whether you're with him or not.

"Be a bit more subtle, will you?" Rylis speaks quietly into her commlink to Snith. "You're just going to chase him off. Ragnor's suspicious already."

You see Snith snap his comlink to his mouth, instead of drawing his gun.

"Hush, will you? I know what I'm doing."

Kyle makes efforts to hide his own comlink chatter, but his pace remains the same as he takes the walkways leading back to the starport.

"You had better not ruin this for me."

Rylis will keep following after. Let them be distracted by Snith, so long as he doesn't scare them off he'll lead her right to where Kyle's going...

Traversing the walkways takes Kyle closer and closer to the docking bay, but further away from the crowds of Nar Shaddaa's nightlife. His pace does not quicken, nor does he pay you any attention. It doesn't take long for you to figure out that Kyle is heading for his ship, but eventually you are alone with him on those walkways.

It is at this point that Snith draws his repeating pistol and aims for Kyle...

"You idiot! Stop!" Rylis hisses into the commlink.

Too late. Reacting to Snith's gesture with the practice of an outlaw, Kyle spins on the spot and whips his pistol out of his holster.

Either Snith was painfully obvious or Kyle is very observant, for Kyle actually gets the drop on Snith. The single red bolt from his snapped shot comes very close to ending it right there and then, but Snith moves just in time for it to merely skim him. 9 damage.

Snith doesn't like that one bit.

One-handed, Snith means to fire a volley at Kyle, reaching into his jacket with his free hand.

Snith is nine frames from Kyle, while you are twelve frames distant, Rylis.

"Oh, damn you!" Rylis yells at Snith, drawing her own blaster and firing at Kyle (dodge if he shoots at me).

Keeping distance or closing in?

Moving in. I feel the need to punch Kyle 😛

You would, wouldn't you?

Drawing your pistol (though not nearly as impressively), you open fire with an impressive 17. Matching Kyle's shot on Snith, you skim him for 11 damage as he steps to one side.

As you move up alongside Snith, he lets off a rapid burst of shots. The first bursts on the railing by Kyle (8 damage!), but the rest stray from the target as Snith pulls out his disruptor pistol in his other hand.

"You picked the wrong guy to get into a gunfight with, pal!" Kyle shouts. He puts out a double shot, dealing 8 damage to Snith, returning the favor.

Rylis, you're up first. Snith charges his disruptor pistol for a lethal shot, taking him to frame 11.

Hell yeah I would 😛

Rylis will advance on Kyle, using her jetpack to advance faster. If she can do so, she'll also fire on him while moving.

Your jetpack roars to life as you streak towards Kyle. Firing adds an extra frame to your movement, and you roll an 11 that Kyle dodges. Miss.

Kyle takes his turn, going for a more accurate approach on Snith this time. His shot gets Snith for 7 damage.

Snith then unleashes a charged beam from his disruptor pistol. The deadly pistol as a base damage of 15 when charged, with an extra MKP. Rolling a 12, Snith burns Kyle's arm for 8 damage.

Kyle seems to be holding his ground, even as your zipping towards him. Three frames away, Rylis. Snith doesn't budge, resorting to his repeating pistol again.

Rylis will continue her advance while firing on Kyle again. Dodge if he shoots at me.

Before I update, what is your plan once you have descended upon him?

Close combat! Start off with shooting him with the spikegun, I think.

Snith attempts another barrage with his repeating pistol, but a 2 is atrocious and he hits nothing. A dodge wasted by Kyle, however.

Your shot is much better, a 19! 11 damage to Kyle as he throws himself to the opposite side of the walkway, against the railing as you descend on him...

Snith this time fires both guns, not bothering to charge the disruptor. Fortunately, while he is less impressive with Both Guns Blazing than his normal skill, he rolls well. Unfortunately, he has penalties for Rylis being in the way and firing both guns. A double-shot from the repeating pistol gives you 4 damage, while the disruptor deals you 8. 12 damage total.

Woosh! The spikegun fires as you extend your arm. Being in such close proximity and using such an effective weapon, you scoff as you bring his defense down to 11. His shoulder is split open by one of the spikes, for 9 damage and a point of impairment.

Suddenly, Rylis, you notice that there is a loud roaring noise that is increasing in volume...

Rylis will strike at Kyle using Hard Strike, aiming a punch at his chest, and dodge if he attacks her.

And also look to see what the noise is and where it's coming from, if possible.
