STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- The Hunter

It seems that a Corellian freighter is heading for the bridge, slowing as it approaches. It occurs to you that this particular freighter possesses front-facing laser cannons that protrude from the nose of the craft, which seem to aimed in the direction of the walkway.

"Get off the bridge!" Snith shouts.

Well, shit.

Okay, change my move to Rylis diving over the side of the walkway and using her jetpack to stop herself from simply falling.

Also, she's going to punch Snith in the face first chance she gets.

Kyle seems as if he wanted to distract you with chatter, but before he can get out more than "Okay, okay! 'Nuff!" you are throwing yourself over the edge of the walkway.

The main cannons of the Corellian freighter slice straight through the walkway, the concussion and heat of the blast throwing you off for a moment before you activate your rocketpack.

Burning hunks of metal begin to rain down on you. No sign of Snith.

Rylis will land as soon as she finds a stable area (where pieces of melty-metal aren't raining on her) and pull out her commlink to try and contact Snith.

"If you're still alive, you'd better hope you aren't by the time I find you..." she says into it.

You set down on another walkway, not too far below the Corellian freighter. It has moved into position under the walkway, blocking any further problems from chunks of dismantled bridge.

Rylis will stay where she is, not wanting to attract the attention of the freighter again, and keep her comm out in case Snith decides to reply.

Gunshots overhead. You recognize Kyle's light pistol and Snith's repeating pistol. Light pings as the bolts bounce off the ship's reflector shields.

"That idiot..." Rylis says to herself, looking up.

I would fly back up there to join them, but I think I can only use the jetpack twice in one fight before it needs refueling and I'd probably get back up there too late anyway 😛

Above you, the Corellian freighter suddenly shoots forward and roars off down the canyon of buildings. It vanishes around a bend and is gone.

"Sorry, what'd you say?" crackles your comlink. Snith.

"Where are you and what the hell did you think you were doing there?" Rylis says, rather angry.

"What did it look like?" Snith replies.

"It looked to me like you were attempting to completely ruin things! Now, where are you?"

"Wrong. I was attempting to apprehend the criminal!" Snith says. "If I tell you where I am, are you going try beating me senseless?"

"Well, all you did was chase him off! Do you have any idea what you're doing at all? And no, I won't, even though now I'll have to waste more time trying to track him back down again, time I don't have!"

(yay for being evil...hehehehe...)

"How was I to know that that would happen?"

That line did not come from your comlink, as Snith walks towards you from across another walkway nearby. He waves, smiling goofily.

"Besides, I slapped a tracking device on the hull."

"Still, do you have any idea how much trouble you could have just caused me? Ragnor's working for the Hutts. Trust me, they do not like it when someone messes with one of their people. And his contact with them seemed rather suspicious of me to begin with!" Rylis says, walking over towards him. As soon as they're back near each other, she stops about a foot away, pausing for a moment before lashing her fist out to punch him in the face.

"If I end up with a bounty on me because of this...it will be you who pays. Got it?"

Snith, his silly grin unwavering, ducks under your punch.

"Hey, take it easy! My mother gave me this face. The Hutts aren't the problem, Kyle is. The Hutts only care about their shipments getting around. If we bag or bury Kyle, the Nobog Corporation will deal with the Hutts."

"No, I will not take it easy!" Rylis snaps, grabbing the front of his jacket. "I'm serious. You mess anything up, it's your neck on the line. Not mine. I'll stop worrying about the Hutts once I'm off this planet and don't have them breathing down my neck."

"They won't touch me," Snith says, pulling himself from your grasp. "And neither should you. I'm not someone to be trifled with, miss."

"Nor am I. Something for you to keep in mind." Rylis says, still glaring at him.

"Now. We need to get tracing them - and I would like to get out of here before anyone figures out what just happened. I'm going back to my ship."
