Dropping down, you manage to sweep his legs out from under him. The Shaman crashes down on the hull of the freighter, yowling.

The snipers have vanished.

Tusken Shaman: 33/72 (prone)

Snith curses as he shocks himself on a power coupling. Today is just not his day.

(shouldn't he have taken damage from being tripped?)

Rylis will follow up with Knee Drop. Should he attack, dodge it...

Being stronger than you, his Strength negates your own.

A 19 is a solid hit as you drop your armored knee into his chest, dealing 7 damage. Winded, the Shaman misses his rising strike.

Roughly at this point, the snipers have returned... with their banthas. The mounts grunt and gurgle as the Raiders prepare to push them into a stampede...

Finally, Snith gets the second hatch open and drops through.

Rylis is going to follow Snith down the hatch into the ship.

"I hope you've got a good idea, they're planning on stampeding us." she says to Snith as she drops down the hatch herself.

(would that actually do anything to the ship?)

The snipers are too late; the banthas will do no damage to the ship, and you vanish into the hatch just before they can reach you. The Shaman, however, is not so lucky; he utters one last shriek of frustration before his body is broken by the heavy stomping of the banthas.

"Get to the top turret," Snith says. He reaches up and flips a switch, closing both hatches and sealing you within the freighter.

"Fine." Rylis says, heading off towards the turret. "But I want to know what you're doing!"

"I'm stealing the ship!" Snith says.

"Hah! I don't think they'll be expecting that..."

Anyway, yeah, Rylis will head to the turret and get it all powered up and everything.

The interior of The Last Laugh is relatively unimpressive. Many of the walls have had their panels removed to expose wiring that Kyle has no doubt tampered with, others have been recently knocked loose by his adventures. The lights are dimmed.

You find your way to the open door that lets you access the turrets. Light shines down through the windows from above. You climb up the ladder and into the gunner's seat.

Through the viewport, you see that the snipers have dismounted their banthas and are searching for the hatch that you vanished through.

Psssh, way to take care of a ship...😛

Is it possible for Rylis to snipe those snipers? 😄

Well, you do have a high-powered laser cannon at your disposal...

Excellent...though I meant more "is it possible" as "are they within the field of fire".

Rylis is most certainly going to pick off those snipers...

You hop into the battered leather thing that you suppose serves as the gunner chair as there are a bunch of controls in front of it. Not bothering to strap yourself in, you take the controls...

The turret emplacement itself resembles dual-linked and twinned Gatling guns. As you bring the system online, they begin to spin as the energy levels rise. Putting the targeting lock on the Tusken Raiders, the gunnery pivots about to face them.

"Urk?" is all one of the snipers manages to grunt before he is shredded by a torrent of blaster bolts.

The rest run for cover behind their banthas. One sniper is daring enough to try shooting at the turret, his bullet pinging off the reinforced viewport that you sit behind.

Rylis is going to test and see just how good banthas are for cover against a ship's laser batteries...

Actually, quite good! So long as it is alive, which the first bantha you blast is not after being blasted the first few times. It collapses onto the hull of the freighter, rolling over on its side... and onto the two snipers that were hiding behind it.

The sniper that tried to shoot you rushes the turret, intending to get past the gun barrels...

Rylis is going to fire off a few shots at the sniper that is either exceptionally brave or exceptionally stupid (or both)...

It turns out to be exceptionally stupid, but there is little else he could have done. He is taken out very easily.

The other two snipers take potshots at the turret, but they too learn very quickly that banthas are not excellent cover as you lay waste to the remaining banthas.

With that, all is silent.

"Everything's taken care of down here." Rylis calls out to Snith, once she's satisfied that there's nothing else around.

"Gotcha," Snith says, sticking his head into the tube down from your turret. "Excellent! Well then. Um. Yeah, the ship won't actually start up just yet. I'm guessing since the cockpit is under the sand, he didn't mean to land here. Lots of things must have got knocked about in the crash, so we might have to do a bit of work beforehand... might even have to stop in Mos Eisley for parts... but I can cover that, no problem. Anything I can't buy I can steal..."

"I'm pretty sure the very fact that the ship is out in the desert points to him not meaning to land here. What needs to get done to get this thing moving, then? I don't care about the ship itself, I just don't feel like being stranded in the desert any longer."
