STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- The Hunter

"I'm going to get things working and do a system check," Snith says. "All YOU need to do is stay on that turret and make sure no more Sand People come popping out of the dunes."

"Fine. Hopefully this won't take too long." Rylis says, rolling her eyes a bit.

Snith manages to keep the task quick. He accidentally diverts power from the weapons system (meaning your turret is useless for the moment) to get things in the cockpit working a-okay, meaning you are simply playing lookout. But no Tusken Raiders appear on your watch, miss.

Eventually he gets the system check running. With that going, Snith comes back to check on you.

"So... we're trapped in the middle of the desert in a strange starship with nothing to do," Snith says.

"Doesn't that sound like fun. How long is that system check going to take? Sooner we're out of here, the better." Rylis says, gazing out the window at the desert.

"A bit. But I had a better idea. Once we're back in Mos Eisley, we're not going to have a lot of time; there is the risk that Kyle might catch word of his own ship being docked in the city and then he might find some... connections that he didn't know he had. Which would be bad. So we don't have an awful lot of time to deal with the entire point my mission. I want to get this out of the way so that when we reach Mos Eisley, all that's left to do is bump off Kyle and his pest."

"Go for it. Need any help, or shall I remain the lookout?" Rylis says, the last part being a bit sarcastic.

"Yeah, I might need a hand. No Sand People are going to rain on my parade..."

"I'm not really thinking any more would bother, considering the slaughter all around here..."

"Who knows. Either we've done enough damage to incite a tribal backlash against the settlers or we've become as feared as the demon of the Valley of Spirits."

As you clamber down from the top turret, Rylis, you think you notice something in the darkness below, in the bottom turret...

"Hold on..."

Rylis is going to go and check it out, drawing her blaster on her way down just in case.

As you move down, something is moving up... but you can't quite make out what it is.

The lights in the freighter start to flicker.

"What?" Snith asks. "What's wrong?"

"Thought I saw something down there..."

Weird...

That is when a blaster bolt comes burning up the tube and straight past you. The figure pulls itself up the tube and into the doorway, cackling madly.

It's Kyle!

"What? Where did you come from?!" Rylis says, firing a shot at Kyle herself.

Your shot bursts inside the tube, very near to Kyle. But he throws himself out of the hatch and out of your line of sight.

"You wanted to kill Kyle, right?" Rylis comments to Snith as she chases after Kyle, firing once he's within her sight again.

Dropping down the ladder a few rungs to give chase, you set down in the doorway and fling out of the hatch.

Kyle is gone.

Snith's expression is a combination of puzzled and troubled.

"I'm sorry, what's wrong?"

"I think something very strange just happened...Kyle was just here. He shot at me and then ran off." Rylis says, rather confused herself. "What is going on?"

Snith shakes his head, as if waking up.

"Sorry, say that again?"

"Kyle just appeared to be here. He shot at me and ran off." she repeats.
