STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Trials

Xavier continues to watch the drama unfold below. Cabas is truly a very wise, and strong man.

While Cabas is talking Xavier will make an observation roll to see if there is something Xavier can do in the control station that could hurt the pirates, ie dropping a crate on them or something like that.

There are controls for the anti-personnel and anti-vehicle turrets that descend from the ceiling and walls of the hangar...

Xavier reaches over and pulls the pirate over to him.

"Those turrets can you lower them and aim them at the Pirates," Xavier asks. "If you can do so now but don't open fire. I will give them one chance to surrender, and don't do anything stupid."

The pirate is shaking all over at the implication that he may be responsible for killing all of his fellows, but his immediate health is of more concern.

Turrets emerge from everywhere in the hangar. From the ceiling descend several large turrets, designed to punch holes in starship hulls. From the walls and floor, anti-personnel turrets pop up and target everyone.

Jan and Cabas are at a loss, though Cabas then looks up towards the control station with a raised eyebrow.

Xavier talks through his comlink.

"I just figured having some large guns on your side might help with negotiations, Master." Xavier iterates calmly.

Faced with Cabas' reasoning and the rather oversized defense guns, the pirates surrender without a shot being fired.

"Indeed," Cabas responds, after the surrender is formal. He has Jan stationed in the control room, to make sure that those guns are still ready to fire.

A thorough search by Jan's security team reveals that no, Loola Wojaine is not present on this ship, which is named the Ravaging Claw. In fact, they had just recently deposited their last batch of kidnapped civilians to Svidrigailov's ship within the past week.

"We can easily get Svidrigailov's coordinates, or even dupe him with this ship!" Jan declares excitedly.

"No," Cabas replies. "We stick to the original plan. It will not work any other way."

"But..."

"If I am correct, Svidrigailov, while a blunt and gruesome man of violence, is not unintelligent. I have no doubts that any attempt to dupe him in the manner you describe would fail, sadly."

Odd, you think, Xavier. Odd that the plan cannot be altered. The Republic might be able to take a firmer action against Svid's pirate circle if they were to take him unawares.

"Master he doesn't know anything yet possibly. Also he sent this ship to pick up the Senator. Perhaps e can take him unaware." Xavier speaks respectively.

"No," Cabas says, firmly. "An approach like that could endanger the Senator's daughter, not to mention any other hostages that they might be pawning off as slaves. We need to take the route advised by the Council."

"Yes Master we will do as the Counsel instructed."

Cabas nods.

"What about the Spearhead?" Jan asks. "No way we're getting to Almania in that hunk of junk..."

Now that you can see it from the outside, Xavier, you notice that there is an enormous, smoldering hole in the rear of the ship, where the power generator used to be.

"Could we just take this ship to Alemania?" Xavier asks.

"Possible," Cabas says. "We don't have many other options. Svidrigailov will be suspicious when he catches word of Yorrik's vessel landing on Almania..."

"Perhaps we can send word that Yorrik as turned sides and plans on giving us valuable information. It could provoke Svidrigailov to attack us and proceed further with our own plan, Master."

"Provoking a pirate attack?" Jan says. "Are you nuts? Do you WANT him to wipe out Almania's population?"

"Try to think a more subtle route, my Padawan. Do not think of our passage to Almania in the long run, but the immediate effects of our arrival there in a pirate vessel."

"Is it that Alemania would likely attack us?"

"Thanks to the Senator," Jan says, "not at all likely. I think Cabas has more of a problem with a pirate ship showing up in the capitol to drop off the Senator after a friendly chat."

(Sorry for taking so long Rex been very busy)

"Could this make the Pirate King less likely to fall for our plans, Master?" Xavier asks.

"He would be made wary," Master Cabas says. "It could increase the danger of the mission or cause us to lose our chance to get at him. Landing on Alemania would be folly."

It occurs to you that Almania is not the only celestial body in its system...

"Then perhaps we should look for another viable option?" Xavier says. "What other places could we possibly land though?"

"Er, did you have somewhere in mind?" Jan asks. "Almania in entirety is out, right?"

"Yes," Cabas says.
