STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Trials

The Taskmaster raises his pistol and takes a shot at you, which you very easily deflect with your lightsaber. This is disheartening, so he turns and runs...

"You are dead"

With that Xavier hurls the lightsaber at the taskmaster.

Using Saber Throw.

The Taskmaster cries out as your lightsaber sinks into his thigh after your Throw, sending him to the ground. He turns to fire at you before you have retrieved your lightsaber, but Hoondan makes sure that he never squeezes off his shot. The disruptor rifle vaporizes him, reducing the Taskmaster to a pile of ash.

Xavier walks over with no sense of urgency. He calmy bends over and picks up the lightsaber.

"See if they deactivated the shield yet."

Trax sadly reports that he is unable to lower the shield.

"They were expecting someone to try hacking it," Trax says. "I should have known. We could try overloading it, but I don't know where we'd get that kind of firepower..."

Perhaps one of the crates could be used.

A crate full of thermal detonators would probably do the trick, yeah.

GOod then Xavier will start working on getting the crate over there with out causing it to blow up. I assume there is a crane somewhere.

You think they actually use a loader droid for this kind of thing, but you doubt you could get it to cooperate with you without dropping the crates in some random location.

Not to mention that you could probably push a crate down the stairs and it would do the trick.

OK then that is what Xavier will. First he makes sure everyone is away from the door. HE then pushes it down the steps and watches it go Boom.

You shove the crate up the edge of the stairs... and it topples over, spilling out its contents.

And boom it goes. The explosion, as it cannot carry forward past the door, is redirected up the stairs. The stairway disappears from sight as a concussive cloud of tremendous blue light storms up the stairs, threatening to scorch your retinas until you look away. It knocks you all off your feet and showers sparks down on you.

Once the flames clear, you can see that the stairway is severely scorched and the laser wall has been fried by the intensity of the explosions. It is highly likely that the area is now structurally weak, but hey, the way onward is clear!

Xavier will tell his men to move up the structure slowly and in smaller groups.

They advance cautiously, testing the steps as they advance. This goes without hinderance, and soon your fighters are all at the ready on Level C. With your recent casualties, you have 368 slaves backing you.

"Nothing more to do on this level," Trax insists.

Then let's move out. Xavier will lead in the front. He also wants to see if any crates are still around so his men can pick up some thermal detonators.

The thermal detonators all seem to have been... well, detonated. But there are plenty of grenades about- flash-bangs and stunners, cryobans and cryokinetics, incendiaries and plasmatics. Only a few crates worth, though.

The rest of the crates hold contents of little importance, spare parts and whatnot.

Ok then he wants his men to grab as many of the grenades as they can without hindering themselves.

Then they will advance with Trax leading the way, and Xavier right beside him.

You get thirty men strapped up with an assortment of grenades, three apiece.

Pressing through the cargo area, weaving through a junk-crate maze, you encounter no resistance. These pirates are worthless scum, Xavier; they have no bravery or valor in battle. If Prassk is any indication, they will be waiting in another attempted ambush at the top of the next flight of stairs, leading up to Level B.

"Consider the laser wall, too," Trax says. "We got lucky with the detonators, that time. I dunno about the next..."

Just to keep you updated on how things look.

Xavier examine the bottom of the stairs looking for any signs of something that could generate a laser wall. He will also have Trax assist him in this.

If he finds it he will use his lightsaber to destroy to so it can not be used against him.

Upon reaching the bottom of the next staircase, you come under fire, as expected. You did not expect, however, the pirates to be impatiently storming down the staircase, blasters blazing upon first sight. They kill twenty-five of your slaves in their strike. Ten of the pirates, seeing your lightsaber, inflict seven damage as they fire on you.

Trax successfully locates a stabilizer for the laser wall. Taking a moment from your defensive measures, you sear straight through the device with the burning blade of your lightsaber, disabling it with a shower of blue sparks. You don't know if that will keep the laser wall from activating, but you can be sure that it won't function correctly...

The turrets gun for you and your three lieutenants, all of whom dive away. Hoondan is unlucky as his turret rolls a 20 against him, taking six damage. Your turret rolls a 14...

"Draw attention to yourself!" Trax advices. "You can handle the pressure, the slaves can't!"

Will you be rolling clear of the turret that fired on you?

He tells the heavies to aim for the turrets. Xavier rolls away from the turret towards the Pirates.

His plan is to get them bottlenecked in the staircase entrance so his slaves can mow them down. He stabs the nearest pirate with his lightsaber.

Defend for Defense.
