Hearing about it is really interesting but it's doesn't scare me. Guess we will find out when it comes. And if the world does end one day or human kind becomes nonexistent it will be because we made it so. Well that's how I feel anyways.

We can be quite certain that, at some point in time, earth will cease to exist and much of its life will be wiped out, if not all life. This knowledge doesn' t influence my religious beliefs at all.

Til there we will have colonized other planets.... I think.

I'm not sure what on Earth would survive in the vacuum of space, but all those predicted causes are millions of years away. The idea that we're all doomed to die within a conceivable span of time is completely different.

Well obviously, since it is the Mayan calendar, it shouldn't affect any beliefs except Mayan beliefs. Duh.

Especially when it doesn't actually end in 2012...

That would be fitting if the calendar actually had events scheduled after the destruction of the earth...
